I watched this a while back thinking it was going to be a great movie but boy was I wrong. The movie is entirely crap. The main girl Willowdean is such a self-centered and self-victimizing character. I did not like her character and how she would keep belittling the people around her and putting them down like her 'friend' Millie for example. I just hope they don't try and make a sequel for this crappy movie. The idea they had was not properly executed.

Wow. I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would. Really great message kind of a feel good movie that battles tough topics at the same time.

I haven't read the book and I was reluctant to see the movie. It seems that every streaming service is releasing pageant related shows and movies right now. But, luckily, this one breaks the mold. It's less about pageants and more about learning to accept yourself. It's more a coming of age story about a girl learning to find self confidence and find the strength to fight for what she wants. I ended up liking this movie more than I expected and I'm glad I watched it.

Loved the adaptation from the book, but definitely didn't like some of the changes. Also, Bo didn't quite feel like...Bo. To me, at least. But nevertheless, a very important movie, and I'm glad it was made!

Very nice movie for casual watching. Always a pleasure to see Jennifer Aniston act and the story was nice. I also loved the slang and the country music!

A good film! Very inspirational and what a way to highlight on the complexity of relationships!

But shouldn't Millie be disqualified as well? Coz technically her talent wasnt the same as what Rosie approved it to be good movie nonetheless!

this movie made me feels all warm and happy and my tears wont stop flowing because dear god this movie is wonderful. A movie about female friendships and mother-daughter relationships, and the confidence all these girls show, amazing. their confidence scares me and also made me hopeful, thank you. An uplifting and body positive film, and one (I hope) to encourage beauty pageants the world over (and their audiences) to be more open to what 'beauty' actually means in our society.

I am so freaking in love with this movie and my heart is mush. No mean girls, supportive characters everywhere, and female friendships ftw. I only regret that I was dumb enough to not read the book first.

I'm not a fan of beauty pageants (especially the ones with very young kids) but I was searching through Netflix for something to watch and caught the trailer and thought 'Fuck it. Why not? It's got Jennifer Aniston in'. Yeah bits of it it are saccharin sweet, but, don't let that put you off.
I'm as cynical as they come and bitter and twisted by life's experiences, and I loved it.
The young cast is great, Jennifer Aniston is perfect as the mom and Harold Perrineau is fabulous as Lee.
It may cause your eyes to leak a bit too.

Great pageant movie without the cliches. There aren't the "pretty girls" laying prey on the outsiders that you would expect when you hear the concept of the film. It is really about reconnecting with ones mother by doing something that she loves. Nice characters, funny sections and great acting throughout.

Not funny, not entertaining and not in the least bit interesting. If Jennifer Aniston spent the entire movie in a bathing suit, it still would help this movie.
I can't give it a zero/10, but I would if I could.

Aspiring to a movie with a big message, the goal can not always be achieved.

I like the main idea of the movie, but the way the story rolls is just boring for me.
