Elizabethtown 2005

A movie with some touching moments, but not really "8/10 great".

What makes it special for me though, is that the role of Claire Colburn offers the exact mixture of charm and emotional ride between sadness to joy, that is perfect for Kirsten Dunst.

it had nice moments. The scene at the gas station. The montage eat the end. But also it was so dumb in so many ways. And quite confusing. I didn't really get what was happening and why a lot of the times.

Kinda feel like I'm the only one who got what Cameron Crowe was going for with this movie.
There's nothing else that has quite the same combination of bittersweet sadness, humor, and hope. Plus an absolute BANGER of a soundtrack.

I just watched it, and I loved the poetic tone, the memorable soundtrack, and the blend of comedy and drama.

I was obsessed with Elizabethtown when it first came out and I've recently been reintroduced to it. The beautiful soundtrack paired with the voiceovers is one of the most relaxing things you could listen to. I can't help but be in a better mood after I watch it.

Charming and fun, Elizabethtown is a romantic comedy from writer/director Cameron Crowe. The story follows a failed product designer who returns to his family’s hometown in order to make funeral arrangements for his father, but when the stress gets to him he turns to a strange airline stewardess for her sage like advice. The characters aren’t developed very well, and the film doesn’t seem to have a clear direction. Yet Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst have enough charisma to overcome the weaknesses in the script. Elizabethtown has some issues, but it’s entertaining and has a good heart.
