A lot of this is what you come to expect of anime, large manned machines, futuristic technology, miniature clothing, and yet... This movie just didn't draw me in the way others have. Most of the movie was fairly slow. The big "threat" had an anticlimactic ending. There was some good action towards the end but the movie itself was more about what defines humanity than anything else. You have humans who abandon their bodies to become code, and an Ai who develops consciousness, alongside regular humans and that contrast and learning to accept becomes the main message of the movie.
