Fantastic, indeed.
'Fantastic Mr. Fox' is a terrific stop motion animated film, which is unmistakably a piece of Wes Anderson's work. I enjoyed the whole film undoubtedly, though the first half is much stronger than the second. The opening piece of stop motion didn't actually fill me with confidence, but thankfully that immediately disappeared as the whole thing looks truly excellent.
George Clooney is great in this, definitely the most I've liked a performance (from what I've currently seen, of course) of his away from the 'Ocean's flicks. Every member of the cast is top notch to be fair, from Bill Murray to Michael Gambon to Eric Anderson. Willem Dafoe is fun too.
What a movie , great director ....
Just as the food, superb.
A really unique movie. Visually it's great, the story is fun, the voice acting is all top notch. A quick run time makes this an easy watch.
I eat my breakfast the same way as Mr Fox.
Anderson's unique style goes hand in hand with the art of stop-motion, creating something fantastic. It's a story with animated animals but it feels so incredibly human and personal. George Clooney's voice as Mr. Fox is a delight, perfect pacing, great character and set designs, Willem DaRat was a standout, lots of funny moments and the stop-motion just looks sooo good. It's a lighthearted watch but also has some clever life-coaching motivational tips that'll leave you in a cheerful mood. Definitely a comfort movie!
I liked the movie, but the ending disappointed me a little. I’m a sucker for happy endings but this one was a little off.
Do not watch this movie stoned. Fudge me I'm having a bad trip. The Clooney fox won't shut upp
A great film filled with lots of Wes Anderson charm. On multiple occasions I found myself laughing out loud and there was no real moment in where I felt bored.
Quirky and funny movie about a clever fox returning to the stealing antics of his youth. He plans to make 3 big scores against the 3 biggest and baddest farmers in the region. After he succeeds, the farmers strike back, and Mr. Fox finds himself along with his family and neighbors trapped in a hole while the farmers dig for them. Eventually the group gets itself out of the jam by following a crazy scheme of Mr. Fox that uses everybody's talents. The group finally ends up in the sewers below the town, and find a way to the super market where the can steal plenty of food with much less danger (at least for now). The film emphasizes family.
The most memorable characters are the son and the nephew of Mr. Fox.
The most memorable scene is a distant meeting between Mr. Fox and a wolf. The scene is meant to bring up the descent of domesticated (or nearly domesticated) animals: surely the change that domestication brings about nonetheless leaves a spirit that still calls to the wild nature that the animal once was. Our cats are tigers in miniature. Our dogs are wolves in sheep's clothing.
I'm sure it's a great movie but I'm high af and seeing these foxes talking isare tripping me out. Ok. So. Excelent voice acting animation is superb. I can definetly see wes Anderson has something going for him. At the end of the day, what makes a good movie is one that you're thinking of days later. And just like Midsommar, I'll be thinking of this, for many weeks. 9 out of 10.
I think if I ever walk into a supermarket and see some wild animals dancing, I’ll just pass away…
(in a good way)

What a delightfully charming film! The stop-motion animation is beautiful, the voice acting is top-notch, and the story is witty and fun.
Don't you think what he does with live action which has so many limitations and boundaries, but He always makes them Fantastic, so what happens when he got every aspect in control? This film is the proof where blooms Wes Anderson's Creativity and Making Films Into Cinema even more.
WORTH WATCH!NG.
This is a cussing good movie
This used to be my least favorite Wes Anderson film, but after reassessment, it's a bit higher on the list, as it perfectly distills everything the director has to offer, down into a silly children's story. It's dry, as all his works tends to be, but the quirky humor, mixed with the sheer craft on display is something to behold.
This may be Wes Anderson as his most authentic. I think the fact that it is animated gave him complete control of the elements that make his films so unique. Fans of his movies will notice the common aesthetic, from the color palette, to the music, to the framing, the humor, and some familiar voices.
All of that aside, Fantastic Mr. Fox is a movie that can be enjoyed by the whole family; I wouldn't exactly call it a kids' movie, but, in my opinion, it is perfectly safe for kids - actually, aside from one, very subtle, death scene, I don't even know how this is not G rated.
At its core, this is a sweet drama about about a family, and greater community of anthropomorphic animals, coming together to overcome hardship. Of course, in true Anderson fashion, the comedy, and adventure make the ride very fun.
The movie does drag in a few places, but by the end, I was very happy with it. In fact, after Rushmore, I'd say this is my favorite Anderson film.
Post script: Just because I'm me, and since, unlike in this movie, animals do not have a voice, I will be it. Some absolute waste of life left a comment here suggesting that foxes are food - at least that's how it reads, but who knows? These troglodytes can't seem to string together a coherent thought if their life depended on it. Lucky for them (carnist trolls), the trait deference that unjustly justifies killing animals for food is not intelligence, for if that were the case, it would be morally allowable to eat them (carnist trolls) - foxes are not food, they are living beings who feel pain, and want to live... just like me, just like you.
Wes Anderson has a style I just love looking at.
This is, and I am not kidding, peak cinema.
There is no doubt that Wes Anderson’s stop motion adaptation of Roald Dahl’s “Fantastic Mr. Fox” is more than on point visually. Yet, the artsy and sophisticated production design doesn’t make up for the inconsistency in tone. The offbeat comedy and clever dialogues could be a little too much for a child to handle, yet the themes introduced and reflections made are not stimulating enough for an adult audience. It might not be a life-changing experience, but it surely guarantees 87 minutes of light-hearted divertissement.
I did not like this much. I guess I did not like the plot and therefore all the movie, with all the great animation, seemed plain. And the voices of George Clooney and Meryl Streep sounded distant from the characters.
Wes Anderson and Roald Dahl meet in the middle for this eccentric, free-spirited interpretation of an early 1970s short story. I'll admit to not being a fan the first time I saw this, years ago, but upon a second viewing (now a parent, watching it with my kids) I can better appreciate it. As I've become more familiar with Mr. Dahl since that time, I found the author's calling cards more obvious, a close match for the director's idiosyncratic directing style and obsessive attention to detail.
Stuffed with small character moments and a warm, soft pace, it operates with an unusual cadence that takes time and effort to accept. The voice acting is star-studded and mostly effective, particularly George Clooney's turn as the smooth-talking lead with a taste for one last heist, though the actors do often get caught up by the constant long-winded, dry, breathless dialog. Many supporting players sound positively bored by that process. The animation fits the tone quite well, using stop-motion puppets that closely resemble a set of well-loved kids' toys, and that helps give the screen a familiar, welcoming atmosphere. Like walking through the door to your old childhood bedroom, twenty years on. It’s a worthwhile alternative to today's louder, flashier fare.
This was an extremely enjoyable movie for both kids and adults. Even though it is animated (I'm not quite sure what you would call this style of animation - it was almost a throwback) many of the jokes were clearly directed at adults. The dialog and storyline were more adult-like than child-like. I really enjoyed it.

Spent most of the movie disbelieving that it hadn't yet been 90 minutes. The format doesn't really work.
What a disappointment! I read everywhere what a great movie "Fantastic Mr Fox" was but after half an hour I got bored and after another half hour I turned it of!
