A story you have seen before, but with a career best turn from Hart and a witty, emotional script, this is still worth a watch.
It was my first time seeing Kevin Hart in a serious role and I was surprised at how good and believable he was.
The movie finds a way to be fun despite the serious topic. It was very enjoyable.
That 9-year-old child is a solid actress! You can find her in Them on Amazon Prime with the same mother but in a totally different genre. As I said, solid actress.
I love that this movie exists. Yes, the story is nothing new but it so wonderful seeing a lovely portrayal of a Black father & daughter relationship. It really is worth a watch if you want something bittersweet and wholesome.
Kevin hart was suprisingly good at this one.Much better movie than i expected with some emotional moments and a good production 7.1/10
I Fell asleep … twice!! Dull!
If you are looking for a date or preteen safe family film I am sure this will suffice.
Having said that this was just another movie I've seen 100's of times with updated jokes and current stars. When watching a movie like this you want the story told in a way that makes the trope feel new and refreshing, this film doesn't do that.
don't bother watch it .... it's a waste of time
A lovely film and good performance from kevin hart, the plot wasn’t anything new but they did a good job with it all.
I never cried so any times in a movie like this
It’s predictable but still new to us all as we get to see a different side to Kevin Hart, and a serious one he’s quite good at, not just in comedy.
Finally!!! I like something Kevin Hart did, its about time he did something different than his same comedy routine, never liked it and always been annoyed by it and wasn’t funny to me, always felt he was carried by his supporting cast.
Would get in arguments with friends because i was the only one that didnt like everything he’s done. This is by far his best performance and second was in “The Upside” which was such a good movie. What they both have in common? He’s not doing his high pitch comedy voice.
I abolutely loved it. I cried half the movie.
Film 33 (Goal: 300) of 2024
A very sweet film, if ultimately predictable. Nothing wrong with that though when all the pieces and players are doing such a good job. Easily the best performance of Hart's career. I'd like to see him do more of his fare.
A second watch and I may have appreciated this even more this watch. It’s nothing too complex, as it’s a rather straightforward dramedy. But it is simple and effective in what it wants to do and is feel good by the end. This is an easy one to recommend to all sorts of people, and I will surely watch this one again in the future!
Rating: 3.5/5 - 8/10 - Would Recommend
I'm not really a Kevin Hart fan but I really enjoyed his character in this. Good family movie :thumbsup_tone4::thumbsup_tone4:
kevin hart was awesome. it was different seeing him in a serious role but he did great.
Episode 10x01
Well, nothing, another of the drama-comedy genre with the typical story of a single father who finds it difficult to take care of his newborn daughter and his way to adolescence. Everyday situations that the protagonist solves in an absurd way, accompanied by other even more absurd characters, to later become a super-dad. This has already been seen countless times, what can I tell you?
Kevin hart is the worst. Literally plays the exact same role in 99% of the shit he does. Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
He should stick to comedy even though he isn’t funny imo. More obnoxious than anything.
It’s a beautiful movie! I crying so much!
I am actually quite surprised by this, definitely more powerful and poignant then I expected it to be.
A bittersweet, adorable and enjoyable movie.
Somebody's cutting onions close to us or something, I don't know
It was a touching movie. It was my first time to see Kevin Hart in a serious role and he was effective at it.
Fatherhood is a sweet, simple, and honest take on the life of a widowed father. Director Paul Weitz's emotional comedy is not extremely emotional not extremely funny but hangs in between which imparts a feel-good popcorn-worthy flick. Finally, Kevin Hart gets something out of straightforward comedic roles and he turns serious this time and he does well.

A very good movie and a very nice watch. Hart showed a serious side that lacked his high pitched "look at me" voice. The move seems almost plotless after watching but very entertaining!
Melody Hurd (Maddy) Is an amazing young actress and I was blown away by her performance.
Lovely and sweet. Expected no less. Hart gave a strong and convincing acting.
Although script lacking some high staks and drama, the movie is successful as a vehicle for Kevin Hart's more serious side. Sweet, relaxing but also kind of boring.

Predictable and consists of some other issues but fundamentally such a sweet film. Kevin Hart gives the best performance of his career too.
