This is Police Story in name, but not in spirit in my opinion as this movie was actually pretty bad and messy from a story point of view. But Jackie Chan (Insp. Chan) is still really good in this film and though it is the worst in the franchise, it has one of the best fight sequences in it and some truly great stunts in it.
I'd say skip it, but if you love watch Jackie Chan do some amazing stunts then definitely check it out and if you are not a Jackie fan then definitely skip it.
Unfortunately, I could only find a dubbed version of this but Jackie does the dubbing for himself which means it was actually watchable.

A good Jackie Chan movie. A bad Police Story movie.
The fight scene with the ladder is fantastic of course, and so are several of the other action sequences. The story is messy.
As a kid who would often rent or buy Jackie Chan movies on VHS, I had no idea this movie was part of the Police Story franchise, as the American marketing gave no indication of it. Watching it again as an adult, well, the movie doesn't give much indication of it either. Just a couple of brief scenes with Bill Tung.
Definitely worth watching for the stunts, and it's under 90 minutes!
