Frankenstein's Army 2013

I love this film so much, the monsters look very creative and ridiculous, a very fun film to watch with friends. Although it gets pretty disturbing sometimes.

This movie is interesting when the Russian soldiers first discover the Nazi lab. Then the found footage shaky cam and extreme gore take over and the movie nose dives faster than a Messerschmitt Bf.

Even Frankenstein's Nazi creations, which were what interested me, were mostly disappointing. It's all blood and guts and the only thing slightly scary are a few claustrophobic moments in some underground tunnels.

Some cool monsters and scenes. But not a big fan of the POV aspect of the entire film. Would be a cool movie to watch in VR though. But in general would prefer something more traditional as far as cinematography goes

most of the time it felt like being in a game with the way it was shot. theres not much depth to it, but its a whole lot of gory, monster fun. cool points

Staring at a brain as Viktor poked and prodded and watching some cats get scalped in full view was a bit much for me, so I missed a couple minutes of Viktor's lunatic dialogue, but in general, this was a cool idea for a film, even though it ventured into Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies levels of preposterousity. The machine/zombie creatures were inventive, although the first one was the creepiest.

Some of the creatures were pretty cool looking. Not a big fan of the shaky camera though.

The monster designs are this film's chief asset, exceptional concepts and pretty excellent execution on that front, and production in a few other places is pretty decent too. But beyond that, the films falls short in pretty much every other way. The script is mediocre and rife with cliches, performances are mixed from okay to awful. Didn't realize it'd be a found-footage film, which makes the score and sound cues all the more egregious. Overall, aside from exceptional designs, Frankenstein's Army just ends up being incredibly amateur. I honestly think with a little better direction, they could have made something much more notable. It will not be remaining in my library. That's my piece.

The spectacular monsters bring this horror movie to life.

Not so bad. I loved the grotesque atmosphere but plot was terrible....I would also avoid to over-use Frankenstein myth...Nazi experiments would have been enough.
