I don't even know what to say... I somehow kinda liked it.
I can understand that 1.7 average rating (ouch!) but at the same time I truly didn't even mind this 2018 remake/adaptation of Mary Rodgers' 1972 novel. This incarnation of 'Freaky Friday' switches the story into a musical. My brain was constantly telling me throughout that events onscreen were bad and yet I evidently hold nothing against it - if anything the opposite, to be honest. I'm just as surprised as you!
Cozi Zuehlsdorff and Heidi Blickenstaff are actually enjoyable in the lead roles and, I'm sorry, but "At Last It's Me" is a lowkey bop. Of course it's a million miles away from being anything close to perfect but for what it is - a made-for-television Disney Channel teenager flick - I can't give it any hate. Is 7/10 generous?^ Probably, but whatcha gonna do. ¯(ツ)/¯
A fun twist on an old tale. I love that they have turned it into a musical.
It was cringy I didn't finish the film. Too much and unnecessary musical numbers.
