Fury 2014

Fury actually begins quite good. It isn't uncommon for war movies to reduce "realism". So it is rather the standard that enemy forces attack just in the right size, so that the heroes can take care of them. We wouldn't want enemy PAKs and Panzerfäuste to attack organized, all at once from different sides, wouldn't we?
I might even accept the shallow characters, trying to represent the result of their harsh experiences.
I could even accept the fictional scenario that a Tiger would engage a battle all on its own, so that "Fury" could prove its point of Americans fighting a technically superior opponent.
But the final battle ... I don't know, I think that's how you insult the intelligence of your customers.

A great movie and Brad Pitt at his finest

Fury is without a doubt one of the best WWII films ever made, joining the ranks of the iconic Saving Private Ryan. Pitt's performance is outstanding, as he brings to life a complex and multi-dimensional character who is tough, fearless, and deeply human. The supporting cast is also excellent, with each actor delivering a memorable and powerful performance. The cinematography in Fury is absolutely stunning and captures the intensity and brutality of tank warfare. From the epic battle scenes to the haunting landscapes, every shot in the movie is a work of art. Overall, a powerful tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought in WWII, and a testament to the enduring power of the human spirit in the face of unimaginable hardship.

Fury is a ferociously gory, gut-wrenching world war II film that redefines the atrocities of many misfortunes during the times. With an outstanding cast, gorgeous cinematography, and a claustrophobic tank as one of the characters, Fury is one fine war film to experience. The foreboding atmosphere and supreme action scenes make it one of my favorite war flick of all time.

There's nothing very original about "Fury", but it's a tight, engrossing war film with decent action and characters that you care about.

If war ever had a face, it will be ugly.

"Fury" is a movie that shows what it needs to show, and that is the brutal and hard things in war and how it effect's people.

The use of sound in this movie when the bombs go off or the sound of shoot outs, it sounded so real and loud. I got to give the guy who did the sound in this movie a thumps up for that.

Brad Pitt plays the broken but tough Wardaddy, and he is the kind of character that you can see all the pain and stress in his eyes, as he has been through wars that will scar a person for life. Logan Lerman did a good job as well. He was great in this movie better than those Percy Jackson films. But there is this one actor in this movie that I've got to say that this is best performance yet, and that is Shia LaBeouf, yes he may went crazy last year and early this year, but in this movie he did a fantastic job.

Overall rating: Fury is the most brutal and hard hitting war drama since "Saving Private Ryan".

The most liked comment by far is one that basically rips the movie apart. Yet at nearly 4k votes the movie get nearly 80%. Just saying.

Personally I liked it, much better than I thought. It´s dark and gritty, this isn´t war glorified. I liked the fact that the movie slows down at times, I´m a little tired of these hour-long CGI bombardments that do little in terms of story telling. Of course there are some issues with this movie, you´ll find them in any other one. This isn´t a documentary.

But I´m with everyone else who says the tracers look silly. That`s way over the top and totally not needed. Other than that, watch for yourself and make up your own opinion.

So this time I was able to pay attention to the movie the whole way through. I didn't have the same problems like my last film I reviewed. However, there was some time where I thought I was getting a little bored with the film. Specifically, I'm talking about the sequence where they hang out with a couple German women and, uh, enjoy themselves. It went so long that I was totally sick with it and wanted it to end. BUT... then the end of that sequence made me feel like it was all worth it. I don't hold that agains the movie at all.

Also, I didn't really like any of the characters (except one, I'll get to it) in the beginning. They were all kind of jerks, but then throughout the film you start to go over to them, just like the main character's arc. As for the one character I liked the whole time though, I can't believe it was Shia LaBeouf. I loved his character the whole time. Never would have thought that would be the case.

Fury sucks. Okay, most of the movie was actually alright, but then the protagonist rapes someone in what is meant to be a tender moment. Hurr, I bet somebody being forced into a bedroom by two soldiers with guns can definitely give consent. And then Brad Pitt's character's depicted as this great leader who keeps this ragtag group in check by forcing them to shoot unarmed POWs and as this gentleman by threatening to rape someone and swapping plates instead of just telling the men who he's in charge of to stop being assholes. What fantastic leadership skills, what a true war hero. Of course, war itself may not be glorified in this movie, but Pitt's character definitely is; Pitt himself said that it helped him become a better father. And then ending happened and hahaha, that means the Americans in this movie are literally worse than Nazis. The action was bad, it was just this huge cacophony and colour-coded tracer bullets that looked like light beams from Star Wars. The sound mixing was pretty muddy but that's probably the screener's fault.

Watched this last night, and wow still thinking about it the next day. Fantastic acting all round. Really hits home what the final months of WWII were like. I have never been a fan of war films but this one blew my mind.

Gritty, violent and raw in both content and presentation, Fury holds nothing back in its depiction of the World War II frontlines. In the midst of the horrors, however, it manages to tell a story that is profoundly human and which speaks to themes of courage, loyalty, hope, and the many moral conflicts of war. You get attached to the characters quickly, and when combined with excellently filmed infantry and armored combat scenes, as well as a remarkable score by Steven Price, create a powerful feeling of suspense throughout the film. Although I felt the final scene lacked the realism and humility so noticable in the rest of the film, I felt that Fury still managed to thrill, sadden, and inspire more effectively than most others in its genre.

I enjoyed Fury. Shia Lebuff, Brad Pitt, Michael Pena, and Jon Bernthal sold me that they had spent countless hours together inside that tank. I was impressed by their ability to act together so comfortably. The film doesn't have the emotional pull of something like Saving private ryan or Generation war. It is sad and intense and filled with action. I would recommend this movie to military fans, history buffs, or those interested in action packed movies.

Brad Pitt leads the cast in the gritty and ultraviolent WWII film Fury. The story follows the crew of a U.S. Sherman tank that works its way through Nazi Germany during the spring of 1945. The film makes a concerted effort not to glamorize war, and in fact depicts American soldiers committing a host of war crimes (from shooting unarmed POWs to raping civilians). And, most of the characters are pretty unlikable. However, the battle scenes are shot exceptionally well and are full of intense, high-adrenaline action. Also, the score delivers some sweeping themes that are quiet powerful and emotionally evocative. Yet, Fury is ultimately an ugly film that focuses too much on how war brings out the baser instincts of man.

A cross between Saving Private Ryan and The Thin Red Line . Freaking intense and well-acted. It showed war for what it is.

Les acteurs sont parfaits, l'histoire est bonne. Dommage que les scènes de combat soient un mélange de Star Wars et du 14 Juillet...

@aldy man I'm sure people love having you over to watch movies.... it's real and it's how it was during war times. Maybe you should stick to PG movies. It's war. War is ugly & raw. They did an amazing job capturing the realism of a tank crew during WWII and I'm not sure where you get that the Americans were worse than the Nazis... must have missed the part where American were putting Jews in showers and gassing them. But I digress, sorry you didn't like the movie. But don't be so sensitive. This world is ugly so I'm sorry if I came off like an ass hole but I disagree with your comments and that's OK. I love war movies on if you can direct me to abother well made war movie let me know please. Sorry hope you have a blessed night.

What was the story behind this movie really? People are either killing or being killed. Just like every war.

The movie was great for being what it is: Showing want Tank warfare was like and all the feelings that go around while deployed in one of those machines. Yes a large portion of the movie could have been guessed but I enjoyed it nevertheless. Great acting, suspense and overall flow.

I liked the movie. Also war scenes, tank fighting was something real. I also liked the final, the sacrifice is something that real heroes did in that war.

I was actually surprised by this movie. One can argue that its story has a few holes. But I felt that the actors actually have done a pretty decent job. The scenes involving tanks were the best I've ever seen. Cruel, insane and heart wrenching. It is a must see war movie. I rated 8.0

Of course it had to be directed by David Ayer. Fury is like a bigger-scale sequel to End of Watch. Claustrophobic and overwhelming at times. Pitt, LaBeouf and Lerman give excellent acting in their respective roles. However, the real protagonists are the weapons, with the tank Fury being the heart and soul of the movie. One of the more brutal war movies that, while not on the same level as Saving Private Ryan, will definitely be part of top 10 war movie lists.

This movie was excellent! Especially when I found out after watching the movie that all the actors were trained by a 22 year veteran and went through a rough bootcamp to learn their roles inside of the tank(all tanks were real). They even did a live fire exercise to test the actor's ability to act as a team(with gunning and driving the tank and all!). Michael Pena, the hispanic actor part of the main cast, actually drove the tank in all of the scenes, which I thought was quite impressive.
