Game of Death II 1981

Tremendously bad.

It takes the liberties and poor decisions made in Game of Death... and goes for a Spinal Tap 11.

Terrible acting, horrendous plot driven by a desire to reuse all the old Lee footage from his various movies, a selection of bad guys who are ridiculous. All of which is expected sadly.

The thing that tipped me over the edge and made it impossible to finish without skipping ahead during the second half was the complete inability to replicate the feel of a Bruce Lee movie. Styles of kung fu never employed in a Lee movie, use of wirework. Unforgiveable.

2/10

I don't even really think of this as a Lee movie, but he's in it so much it's hard to get past that. The fight scenes are still pretty good, though not very "Lee-like". The fight in the nightclub where "Bruce Lee" kicks out the light was pretty slick, and somewhat smart given the circumstances.

I don't hate this one like a lot of people do, but it's very, very flawed and would have been better if it just didn't have "Bruce Lee" in it.
