Masao and Jim would be casualties of war if this was real...
Too much footage from the previous films to properly enjoy it. In general I love the goofy stories and bad acting combined with a guy in a suit smashing miniatures. I hope this was the low point of the series. The glowing eyes of the aliens was cool though.
The final fight was superb.

Gamera movies were made for the kids at this point in the series. The human heroes are two boy scouts who are captured by aliens. The aliens arrive in a segmented spaceship that looks like five wasps abdomens connected in a circle. It may not sound cool, but if you're a fan of old Sci-Fi, you've probably seen it before. It's kind of iconic.
The boys end up thwarting the aliens' plan for Earth's annihilation because they have been pranksters in the past and use one of their switcheroo pranks on the aliens. So kids, the lesson to take away from this movie is to be deceptive and mischievous!
One of the things about these old Gamera movies is that they have some strange gore in them. This time an alien throws its severed arm at the boys and Viras stabs Gamera in the soft underbelly with its spear-shaped head. I'm not sure how Gamera could surive an open would of that size, but no worries, in a few moments it appears to be completely healed!
There is a lot of stock footage from the first three Gamera movies in this entry. The final monster battle is not the best because the squid design of Viras is a little limiting in what it can do. Viras is hilarious looking. Those eyes and the bird beak are pretty cute.
