Get Smart 2008

If you like a solid comedy, this one's for you. It's very silly, but that's just what I like. The combination of Anne Hathaway and Steve Carrell works surprisingly well. I'd love it if they did a sequel.

This was a brilliant movie. Pulled lots and lots of genuine laughs and was very entertaining overall. This was actual real comedy. Unlike most other movies that depend solely on dirty sexual jokes and call that comedy. This was smart and witty and also dumb and stupid and awkward. Steve Carell was perfect in this. I honestly don't get uptight tasteless snobs that didn't enjoy this movie. I wish Hollywood made more movies of this quality and caliber.

It’s been awhile since I watched this film and still got it with it’s humor and action and Steve Carell never fails to make me laugh.

Actually pretty funny! Reminded me slightly of Johnny English (which is one of my favourite movies!)

I love this movie. I am not sure why everyone doesn't.

It has some funny moments, but isn't broadly entertaining. It would be good for kids if the language and themes were toned down, so instead it's awkwardly too dull for adults but too mature for kids.

Not worth the watch. Some jokes land, more do not. Belongs to the wasteland of awkward, stupid, and forgettable Hollywood comedies of the late '90s to now, where all character and dramatic beats ring as artificial and perfunctory, and so are unsatisfactory executions of a tired formula. Largely a waste of the talent, though to the actors' credit, they do occasionally manage to squeeze some charm out of the flimsy plastic script.

If you're morbidly curious, just find a clip of the ballroom scene. It's got the best and the standard worst of the film.

"Well, that is a sucker punch to the gonads."

This might look like a silly comedy, but it is a charming silly comedy. Stevel Carrel and Anne Hathaway are such a good duo in this and had me actually laughing quite a bit, but what do you expect from character written by Mel Brooks. I am surprised it didn't get more love when it came out.

I consider this movie to the released version of “threat level midnight” which in my opinion makes the viewing experience a lot better. You shouldn’t have high expectations when watching this movie or you’ll disappoint yourself but if you can turn your brain off for a while and you’ll need to cause as a spy movie sometimes the script is just lazy when things that don’t make sense or the movie will just be unrealistic. This is a spy comedy and it deliverers on that, like I said you can’t take this movie to seriously but if u achieve that this can be a very enjoyable film everyone does great in their role especially Steve Carell and it’s an enjoyable time.

Get Smart is a fun and hilarious screwball comedy. Based on the classic television show, the film follows newly promoted Control agent Maxwell Smart on his mission to uncover a terrorist plot. Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway lead the cast and both give strong performances; especially Carell who is perfectly cast in this role that seems tailored to his particular brand of comedy. The film pays homage to the original television show in its use of gadgetry and in the tone of the humor. Some of the comedy is a bit too broad and cartoonish, but most of it works. Get Smart is a clever and fun film that delivers a lot of laughs.

This movie was mediocre on levels that I didn't even know existed. I say that while grading on a bit of a curve. After all, how hard could it be to mess this up? They started with the rough outline of a franchise that already existed, and then added in some A-list movie stars. They also had the ability to spoof so many other movies that came before it. The funny thing is that I can't really put my finger on what exactly I would have changed because it was soooooo lacking. Despite Carrell's best efforts (and he was really working it here), it wasn't funny. It wasn't a good action movie (the last 20 minutes were painful) and it wasn't silly enough to be a spoof. Worse, if you paid attention in the middle part of the movie, they told you how the movie was going to end and who was the bad guy.

"I think it's only fair to warn you, this facility is surrounded by a highly trained team of 130 Black Op Snipers."

Get Smart starring Michael Scarn, I mean Steve Carell is a fun movie. I never seen the Get Smart tv show so I can't compare it with this movie but I still had fun.

It has the Great Khali, Dwayne Johnson with hair, a great Anna Hathaway, Alan Arkin was loads of fun and James Caan as a president is always good times.

It has your Steve Carell kind of humor along the way and if you like it, you'll like this. I enjoy 99% of Carell content so I might be a bit biased but it is a fun take on the secret agent genre. Some predictable stuff but most of the jokes land which is what a comedy should be aiming for.

Get Smart was a fun watch and a fun way to spend the morning after a night shift.

Steve Carell really nails the dryness of the dialogue. And Dwayne Johnson and Terry Crewes stuck in the office are surprisingly entertaining as well. Definitely an amusing way to while away some time.

Michael G. Scott is back as a field agent? That's Threat Level Midnight - Part Deux.
