Wow, that was bad, so bad.
The Thing 3: Crab-Fishing.
They had one squeaky-metal-door-opening sound and they're gonna use it to its fullest, dammit!
This movie is actually pretty good, especially if you understand it's history. The director is the guy who was responsible for the practical effects in The Thing (2011) which the studio decided to cover up with poor CGI and IMO effectively ruined an otherwise great movie. The studio also meddled and forced them to re-shoot the ending. Harbinger Down was a fan funded film that got to use some of the types of practical effects that could have been used in the 2011 version/prequel of The Thing.
This is a great low budget horror/B movie and I highly recommend if you are into that kind of thing (no pun intended).
Bad movie: terrible acting, special effects and stupid ideas. Not surprisingly, it has several errors and a predictable outcome. Bad! Bad!
The acting is the deadliest thing in this poorly made "The Thing" ripoff.

This is just a retelling of John Carpenter's "The Thing" on a ship, but it did have some goofy effects that won me over. I wouldn't say they were good effects, but they were weird. I also wouldn't call the monster anything other than hard to define, but I was strangely fond of that, too.
And you can never go wrong with Lance Henriksen. This is worth a watch.
