A painfully sweet coming of age story of a young boy (Chan-yi) who suffers through the heartache of losing his beloved little sister (So-yi) and the void of an absent mother. Blaming his sisters tragic accident on their adopted pet (mah-eum-yi or heart is), Chan-yi abandons the pet and strikes out on his own with only his little sisters pink backpack and a bleeding heart. Sort of a Marley & Me meets the grim realities of family in poverty stricken Korean society.
