Hell House LLC 2015

Found Footage is either hit or miss with me. This would be a miss. While this is an interesting premise, it's just dependent on making you anticipate the jump scares. Or it forces you to glare through open doors or peer into long hallways, thinking you're supposed to see something scary. The cast is dull and the characters are one-note.

Only two thing was scary the rest was annoying. 2,the clown standing bottom of the stairs and when the girl was chained on the end and screaming its not part of it

Very creepy movie. The way everything is set up and filmed, it just feels extremely unsettling. The mystery in itself is introduced right away, and then it just latches on to you and keeps you craving the answer all the way up to the end.

But do you get the answer? Well. I'd say not really. But in some ways I'd say it doesn't matter much in this movie because the ride there was pretty intense. Which is what horror is all about at its core anyway. The lack of a crystal clear resolution may be a bit annoying, but at the same time it upholds the mysterious tone set throughout the film and it leaves you wondering a bit. Anyway, pretty cool movie.

Even though the film still suffers from whatever that usually holds the found footage subgenre, it has everything that makes the subgenre so terrifying to me. There's no need for anything groundbreaking, just take the tropes and heightens them to perfection, and this film does just that. I personally love watching horror films but for some reason going through haunted house attractions is too scary for me. I went to one when I was 16 and I don't wanna do that shit ever again. This film really captures that feeling and got me really thinking what would happen that would freak me out like shadows in the corner or clowns showing up out of nowhere. That strobe light scene is the best moment! The footage look genuine and these aspects really help the film to feel realistic. A solid film overall and what they're able to do with the budget is really good.

It's that rare thing; a decent fiund footage movie. While many of them are all shallow build-up and little pay-off, this remains consistently creepy with a horror packed final twenty minutes.

This was a combination of a mockumentary, and found footage type movie. At first I wasn’t sure if I wanted to continue it, because I just really wasn’t in the mood for this style of movie, but I stayed with it, and it was awesome. It had some really good creepy parts, and some jump scares.

Not scary at all, no jump scares, gets quite boring in parts & put me to sleep halfway thru. One of the most boring found footage films I’ve seen. Ridiculously over rated!

Giving this a kind rating. Some of this is a bit boring but there is also a lot of well executed found footage moments. Unfortunately it goes the usual "let's have something whacky going on for the ending" route that's been a staple of the genre without really capitalizing on anything it tried to setup beforehand :(...

Having heard good things about this one, I can't help but be dissapointed. Cast is good, but it's not scary and even a bit boring..

its been a while since i last seen such a good found footage!

A little bit of a hidden gem given the low-profile cast and budget, dreadful framing device but solid once it hits the core story. Tired format elevated by careful execution

This is not good. The footage should be unfounded cause it’s plain boring and for a lack of better words, just bad. It does have a couple of good scenes, but the acting is also pretty bad most of the time and it gets you out of it. But hey, maybe that’s just me.

I thought it was a pretty good haunted house movie. Had some really creepy moments.

So, I've just watched this for the 2nd time following a Reddit conversation about it (it was voted #1 Found Footage movie in a poll).
I plan to watch the other 3 movies in the coming days over the holiday period to see if that gives any further perspective on why this one was favoured so highly.
I have to start by admitting it was better on 2nd viewing than the first and I've changed my rating accordingly, from 4 to 6.
I found it quite creepy even though at times I was also distracted so not entirely giving it 100% attention.

The first thought that came to my mind though was, I know I have seen a LOT of bad movies this year and I just wonder if that fact has influenced my opinion of this one.

Overall thought, it was better on second view after a 3 year gap but i'm not really sure why

Another painfully boring found footage novies

I'm not usually one for found footage films, but this is a decent one. Engaging like a documentary, but not like one of those cheesy docus that are out there. Pretty formulaic, people get house, weird things happen in the house ,escalate, mayhem, death, etc.

There’s not a lot of Found Footage movies that are great like let’s say The Blair Witch Project but this one outdid itself in so many ways. Right from the get-go it sets the mood and as the story progresses, more pieces of the puzzle come together. The movie left me feeling uneasy the very moment the crew decided to spend their first night at ‘Hell House’. From that moment on weird stuff starts happening. What I really love is that there’s no jumpscares with like really loud music or sound effects, it’s the subtlety of seeing someone in the back move or someone appear which makes you feel uncomfortable and this movie does that so well. In moments when you least expect it, you will see something in the corner of your eye or just in one shot before the camera pans away. It’s so incredibly done when you pay attention to these tiny details. 8/10 from me. Definitely recommended!

pretty well made but not really satisfying. i was waiting for the big reveal/finale but somehow it wasnt what i expected. not my favourite foundfootage movie, but definitely one of the better ones.

I had never heard of this movie until approximately 30 minutes before watching. A low budget, found footage film that could be awful. Surprisingly it really works as a horror film. It’s not going to be for everyone, and it certainly has its flaws. It IS creepy. It IS engaging. And that’s all I want in a horror movie. This obviously shares similarities to things like Blair Witch and Paranormal Activity, and personally I think it’s better than ANY Paranormal Activity. It’s really solid and worth watching for horror fans.

Rating: 3.5/5 - 8/10 - Would Recommend

Creepy, yes. Clowns, yes. Found footage/documentary, yes. I think I've watched this three times and they are good at putting things the background that just up the creep factor a lil more each time.

I really hate clowns.
