This is the worst entry in the Hostel series. The first Hostel was the best.
I really enjoyed it! it was better than the previous episodes!
Wow its been taken to far, the first 2 are much better!
I cannot believe I wasted my time watching this crap.
There’s a spark of Raimi-esque gore for one solitary scene, and the rest of the movie is the misogyny of the first dialed up without the point the first movie had in it, lackluster kills and effects, boring performances, the East European xenophobia is replaced with scary brown people with no point, and it’s a boring watch overall.
But.
The last five minutes might be, on a pure endorphin level, the most I’ve enjoyed these movies. The stupidest shit played so straight, like they thought they killed it. It’s delightful. Ultimately I leave this trilogy with a sense of ‘That’s it?’ The first was alright but didn’t live up to its reputation, and the rest steadily declined.

Verdict: Rough real Rough
Unlike some other reviews, I didn't find this terribly bad. Of course, it wasn't terribly GOOD, either; I think the secret is to just watch this as an independent movie and forget making it part of a "trilogy" because it clearly isn't. It has absolutely no connection to the first two Hostel movies (which were only loosely connected themselves), but as a standalone story/film, it was a good enough film. Some of the kills are a bit more creative while some were based solely on your imagination "filling in the blanks", so to speak. Maybe I'm jaded but my imagination fell short and I felt like the movie would have been better - and far more accepted - had the producers gone to lengths to actually show the kill, rather than leaving it to imagination. The scene where Nikki was killed by the bugs (and I'm still not sure what those were supposed to be? They weren't cockroaches but they definitely weren't the flesh-eating scarab beetles seen in The Mummy either.) could have been so much more gruesome, but it fell flat and she died way too quickly, IMO. The backstory, while necessary, was a bit disjointed and - again, IMO - the film could have and SHOULD have focused a bit more on the "audience". Not nearly enough explanation of the whole gambling scene when it obviously was such an integral part of the story. Overall, it felt quite a bit like the later Saw movies: the producers didn't really spend a lot of time developing the movie, but chose to just throw a plethora of "How many gruesome ways are there to kill someone?" into a blender and produce whatever came out. This is the result of such thinking. If violence and gore for the sake of violence and gore is your cup of tea, you'll probably be okay with this one. If you're looking for an actual storyline, however, this will disappoint. While it was a nice touch, the closing scene was still easily foreseeable but it at least left you with a sense of justice. Again, I didn't think this was a "great" movie, but I didn't find it as terrible as some other reviews. It just had the misfortune of having the same title slapped on it as two earlier movies, so it was expected to follow the same story, which it clearly doesn't.
maybe it's just because i live in vegas but i automatically want to like movies set there. either way, the idea of people gambling on killings was pretty fun. most of these types of genres just have an overdone and unfounded dark web kill room type of storyline, so this was a refreshing change. and i've met weirdos here who would definitely gamble like this.
Remember the intense, horrific originality in the torture porn of the original Hostel? Scott Spiegel doesn't, just take a look at this direct to DVD made for TV snooze fest.
This is the pure definition of a cash grab. Why they called it part 3 is beyond me because it has absolutely no relation to the first two movies in any shape or form. Poor acting, atrocious script, and a completely absurd plot that lacks any real suspense.
