I Trapped the Devil 2019

There is some tension here - who is that locked in the basement? - but the film could have been better.

A very interesting movie, where tension and doubt are present all the time, sometimes the movie has moments of slowness that could be less, because it has a very good story, with great performances.

Family, trauma, insanity and a dash of Christmas iconography. Slow burns are hit and miss with me usually, you need an interesting story to compensate for the stillness, lots of suspence and a good payoff at the end. I Trapped the Devil is more of a failed attempt for me.

There's really just one mystery; "what's behind the door?" and that's intriguing, sure, but it's not enough to keep me interested for 84 minutes. There's a few twists and turns in the third act that were decent but it had already lost me at that point. The characters aren't very interesting or captivating either.

I at least appreciate the filmmaking, it's a low budget movie but the acting is decent (a bit stiff at times though), nice unsettling score, atmospheric and good sound design. Lots of red lighting, loved that. Nothing shocking but I like the reveal and the ending. Wanted more backstory on how the trapping happened and what the circumstances were.

What a pleasant surprise this film was.

I started watching this film with no background information. Didn’t know anything about it, didn’t watch the trailer, didn’t even know who’s acting. Just pressed play and started watching it. And what a pleasantly great slow burner horror film this was.

While the ending could have been explained a little bit more, it was absolutely great. At 84 minutes long, the length of the film is just right for a slow paced horror.

Would I watch it again? Very likely. Would I make my friends watch it? Absolutely!

What was it supposed to be like? do they call this horror? After all, it was absolutely no idea, lifeless and the only thing you were One wishes that this boredom should finally end. The only thing holding me back is this movie he watched them what kind of man was hiding behind that door, but unfortunately the end of the film brings great boredom and disappointment. And frankly, I'm glad that this boring, lifeless film ended without any idea and ended my torture with boredom! Sorry my English is bad.
