Good movie, but...
It's a good movie and I enjoyed it, but it is a really poor adaptation to the comics and the games. It should have been turned into an animated series and following the story as it was written in the comics, the changes they made for this movie are not the right ones.
Why no tears for FLASH :(
This was the "BEST" Justice League animated film ever. If this were actually made into a full feature, it would surpass Avengers hands down!
Not faithful to source material. Parts of this I feel are done really well and others just aren't it. I reccomend you watch it for the animation and for the fear gas doomsday lois scene I thought that was done perfectly. otherwise don't waste your time just read the book and play the game.
Having heard great things about the comics, this movie was entertaining but lacks the emotion that Superman was supposed to feel.
This was very dark and I absolutely love it.
I never was much of a Superman fan and having him drop the holier-than-thou attitude is refreshing. But I also do like the story as it shows, as sad as this is, that absolute peace is a pipe dream. There's always someone who will try to take advantage of it and by killing people to to achieve peace you become what you want to fight. Platitudes ? Sure, but true.
Really love the line where the General said it was OK when Superman brought down governments in the interest of the US but it's a problem now. That's more than just a subtle jab.
Unfortunately for this adaptation I have read the entire Injustice run so I know how much of a high bar Tom Taylor set (even the comics itself wasn't as good when Taylor departed). A lot of the nice character moments are dropped in favour of action, which is fine for a short animated movie I guess but this could have been a whole lot better. A proper animated series certainly would have helped the story breathe.
Damn, everything happens so fast. You don’t really have time to process all the deaths. They really should have spread this out across a series. It would have been a lot better to watch Superman slowly succumb to darkness
Also why wasn’t this in cgi like the games? Would have been a lot cooler if it was.
Pretty poor adaptation of Injustice comics and video games....and the ending completely ruined it for me...
The U.S. government should watch this movie they can learn a lot from it. controlled societies never work.
Terrible story and badly animated.
Good movie, but don’t go in expecting a faithful adaptation of the comics. There is no evil Flash/Hal Jordan, Wonder Woman doesn’t turn into an ultra-dictator, there is no magic/gods, and Supes is able to see his failures.
Still a nice, original take on the story, but definitely read the comics to get the true, epic enjoyment from it.
not as good as the comics but pretty competent adaptation
I've only watched Comicstorian's Injustice Year One to Year Five recap video (which is 160 minutes long) and saw the cutscenes movie from both games, so I have actually never read the comics or experienced the video games first hand. My attachment for this story was none exist.
As a standalone experience, I thought it was... okay, but it did lose itself in the 3rd act (like many DC animated movies do). It's not as ridiculous as Red Son, where the 3rd act is completely detached from the rest of the movie, but it still feels off as hell.
The presentation/animation itself wasn't anything amazing either, as it felt limited and disengaging most of the time, and the character designs were terrible, as they completely sucked the life out of the characters. It's all voice acting with no emotion/facial expressions (it's really jarring to watch), and the pacing of this movie was insane. Those first 10 minutes contain so much content that it's incredible that the movie still worked (kind off).
Also, the Ra's Al Ghul plot line felt heavily unnecessary and Dick's ghost was a weird addition. Even if I had never experienced the Injustice story in any way, even I would be able to tell that there's stuff missing here; so if you're gonna cut stuff out, why not the supernatural plot line and keep the movie grounded?
5/10
its okay, nothing special, nothing new, could have been better
I did not enjoy this story much. That's simply due to a personal issue - I don't particularly care for alternate Earth stories a whole lot especially those where the Heroes are or become the Villains.
How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!

Up until Nightwing's death, this movie was a solid 8 or maybe even 9 out of 10. Great stuff. Unfortunately, it then drops the ball big time with 'Deadwing' and the terrible plotline with Ra's al Ghul and his robot. It's really unfortunate, because this movie really could have been something special if it had kept on track. I give it a 6.5/10 overall, and I recommend watching it simply for the opening act. They did a perfect job with the death of Lois and then with Superman killing the Joker.
