Great acting and characters, but slow. I’d be dead in a few hours without power so kudos to them. I like the premise, it just seemed to drag on…

A rewarding survival story with captivating performances from Wood and Page. Emotionally raw at times, this is the battle of the human spirit to survive in a world where everything that is 'modern' disappears.

I was so into this movie, until the end. I was like there is no way they are ending this movie and then the credits rolled. I hate movies that leave me with more questions than answers and that is exactly how this movie played out.

A movie that just made me realized how privileged people are - without even realising it. Girl has interruption to dance career when they loose electricitiy in their well stocked country retreat. But with bits of weirdness - the intimidating middle aged men on motor bikes, screaming in pain from gardening (she cried more than her sister did after she'd been raped by an archetypal hillbilly!) .

Mediocre, mildly dystopian suspense drama for wealthy young Americans who've always lived in a city.

Ever seen a movie with no pay off? Thats this movie. Ever seen a movie that doesnt have a point? Thats this movie.

Its boring, super slow paced and left me wondering.... What the fudge was the point of this film? Certain events happen in the movie that never gets resolved. Its just like left there... I wont spoil anything, but Id rather watch paint dry then watch this movie again.

This was an unexpected treat. Ellen Page produced this film after finding the book in a Halifax bookstore (Yay Halifax! Yay books!). The people who didn't like this movie (unrealistic, boring) seem to have missed the gold here - really good acting by the leads Ellen Page and Evan Rachel Woods, interesting predicaments, fully developed relationships, beautiful (heart stopping) natural beauty (Yay BC!). If you are willing to suspend disbelief (at which I am a master) this movie has merit - I give it an 8.5 (beautifully performed) out of 10. Thanks Ellen Page for producing movies in Canada.

A decent enough excuse to watch Ellen Page and Evan Rachel Wood act together.

A privileged family makes brainless decisions while the modern world ends. Terrific acting from the leads didn't save this dreadful film.

I enjoyed watching this movie. I had trouble with a couple of things though, I couldn't see the house falling apart so soon, it appears to be a well built house and in what seems to be a couple of years at best the place becomes unliveable.
Acting was pretty good, cinematography was very nice.
