Loved it!
Kind of a simple, fun movie, but I liked it. The CG giants were both done badly and great at the same time, if that makes any sense, which I also tend to like for some reason, lol. I loved the top-fro on that one giant, hilarious.
Only made it through the first five minutes, didn't see any reason to continue.
Basically Attack On Titan, but in the Medieval Period
Very much enjoyed this. Nothing but pure entertainment.
Visually impressive but soulless. I don't know exactly what gives a movie its soul but I know when it's missing and this movie, unfortunately, was quite lacking.

More of a "Meh," but I gave it a "Fair" because Ewan McGregor and Stanley Tucci are fabulous. Also Ian McShane and Bill Nighy.
Visually nice to watch but besides that it doens´t have much to go for it. You know how the story will end. And it´s not suited for younger children it has a bit too much violence. And I doubt teens might fall for a fairy tale.
Meh. I really liked Ewan McGregor, but I couldn't stand Nicholas Hoult.. And the story is a bit poor.
Meh. I found the movie to be an odd combination of cheesy and humorless. It was as if someone took Ella Enchanted and removed the comedy, romance, and musical elements...if that makes sense. I'd think it was geared more for children... if not for the PG13 rating, stabbing, beheading, and blood. I still don't quite know what to make of this movie, but I doubt I'll be seeing it again.
Nice effects. I was expecting more from it. But, smooth of watch.
This movie is a good remake from a fairy tale, with a little bit of a love story in it:
A poor farm boy falls in love with a princess. The farm boy is getting magic beans and voilà: giant roots of a plant out of the beans are growing, and so they visit the home of the bad-boy giants.
Since you know the fairy tale, you won't get any big surprises in this movie though. But that doesn't really matter if you watch this movie if you got nothing else to do in the evening. Good animated giants and the acting was also good. It seems Nicholas Hoult is getting more and more popular (He was also the main actor in the recent released movie "Warm Bodies") - and thats what I really appreciate.
But you also won't get bored watching this movie because its really entertaining!

For some strange reason my gf and I really enjoyed this movie :) It's definitely not for the smaller children though.
