This was my first exposure to the 19th century classics of the Bronte sisters or Jane Austen just to let you know. I decided to watch this after it was mentioned by Isla Fisher's character in Definitely, Maybe. I did really enjoy this. While the story has become all too fairy tale in recent times with Cinderella being told 1000 different ways, this was just different. You must admire Jane's strong constitution after she is dealt one bad hand after another in her formative years. I get that some content was omitted from the 1847 novel but our story here is still strong. In fact the movie does feel a little long at times and I question the casting of William Hurt as Mr. Rochester. I think I am going to read the book next to understand the difference.
