I'm glad Kevin Smith got to do what I can only hope & assume is his vanity-project, but... OOF!
This turned out look more like sad midlife-crisis in trying to relive the glory-days of 2 decades ago.
I didn't think it was as bad as some people say. I enjoyed it. Especially the brutally honest description of what Reboots and Remakes are.
There's some breaking the 4th wall humor and a ton of cameos. I would say this movie pretty much expects you to know who Jay and Silent Bob are, so if you don't a lot of the jokes would just fly over your head.
I'm really happy Kevin Smith got to make it. Though I would not recommend it to anyone who isn't a Kevin Smith fan already.
way better than i expected wasn't disappointed
Holy F**K this movie is entertaining AF
Ahhhhhhh, My precious podcasting ears" -Kevin Smith
Soooooo many great lines of dialogue! the Real Kevin Smith is a fucking genius. Such a Meta movie.
Oh dear. Time hasn't been kind in so many ways, has it.
The movie was enjoyable until till the daughter and her checklist PC friends appeared on screen and ruined the movie.
Did you know that Kevin Smith lost weight, cause if not he’ll tell you
4/10
Hilarious...if you're a pothead! But if your brain hasn't been scrambled by drugs, you might find this more than a little tedious.
Perfect movie? No. Entertaining movie? Absolutely. Especially if you like Jay And Silent Bob, Clerks, and Clerks 2. It has so many cameos that you will find yourself smiling at that alone. The movie is awesome.
I couldn't stop staring at jays fake ass teeth.
Not bad not great just average did have some funny parts though . Not Bad if you are a fan of these characters it is worth a watch at least once.
Meh. Worth a watch if you grew up in the Kevin Smith golden era. Otherwise, pass. Meta humor was at a D+
Making pop culture references is not a substitute to humour.
finally they are back. i liked this one. a hommage to the old stuff with so much cameos! but way too short!
And now we queue the music...
With reference to basically everything within Kevin Smith's View Askew-niverse (yes even Cop Out, yes even the animated Clerks series which I may or may not quote to this day when people ask me for Band-Aids), this truly felt like the Endgame for my formative heroes. Checking in on characters from the past is what really drives this film. Trying to stand on its own is hard, but it does go for it, poking fun at itself first to be a mirror for other films and franchises. It's self analytical take on the difference between reboots, remakes, sequels, prequels, and everything in-between is spot on and had that classic Smith wit. Where the film really thought though it's on the nostalgia for the past, which arguably the title is jabbing at in the first place. We want to see these old characters, what happened to them, how they're doing, at the same time we want new stories and be generations want to see themselves in these stories. So I'm a way this is Kevin Smith's way of paying the torch to the younger generation.
I might disagree with that to an extent but that idea is beautiful. I disagree in that I don't think that means there's no place for Kevin Smith. It doesn't mean something has to come in and replace it. Kevin Smith is Kevin Smith, he has his place and there's always room in the shelf for more in my house. I sort of felt he sees himself this way as well. Toward the end when the director Kevin is on stage, he's a wild caricature Of himself that almost seems coked out with a short attention span trying to relate to the kids. Maybe since his life threatening event things have changed, maybe he sees this as passing the torch, it was just word to see that as someone who respects him so highly and when I can see a place for each generations greats without comparison or need to budge and find room.
Rather than pass the torch to a younger generation, help them see what you think is so great about yours, the world before during and a glimpse at what you hope comes after. Maybe this is that for him, and I appreciate him bringing the next generation into the film. But more so I'm excited in a way to see what Harley Quinn Smith does with her career. Kevin had bright her in on his creative ventures. I want to see what she has to say. What are her stories? Not to replace, but to stand proud right there next to her dad's.
Annnnnnnd that suddenly got off track and not about the film at all.

A sequel still the same kind of humor as the first overall a funny film if you really liked the first one
I have rarely seen such a depressing beginning to a film as in "Jay and Silent Bob Reboot". Some of the actors have aged frighteningly poorly. Jay, in particular, no longer works for me as he gets older. Apart from that, the film also looks a bit cheap, and some of the acting is ridiculously weak. The story, meanwhile, is unfocused as well as a rip-off of "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back", but of course that's the point of the film. In any case, I wasn't convinced by the meta-humor. One of the few lifelines at the end are once again the cameos, which for the most part don't make a big splash but should at least bring a smile to fans of the "View Askewniverse" films. And the finale actually got me emotionally involved to some extent; therefore, the film ended on a positive note for me.
There’s something in this movie for any fan of any Kevin Smith film!
Decent if you like Kevin Smith movies, I didn't love it.
After countless jokes, in this rebound, the same but with more youth and more fun, I am left with the final emotional outcome and Pearl Jam. Pure 1990s
This movie cost me nothing and I still feel like I wasted my money.
What can you say about a friggin’ reboot in this series?! It’s fun. It’s not great. It’s not as good as the originals. Not even close. It actually can’t touch ANY of the series. But, it’s fun. Simple fun. I’m not mad I watched it. I’d watch it again. I’ll watch the next one. I’m a sucker. Don’t blame me. I’m not right in my head. Leave. Me. Alone.
Kevin Smith returns to the well one more time to satirize Hollywood’s reboot culture with Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. When Jay and Silent Bob learn that the Bluntman and Chronic movie is getting rebooted they set off for Hollywood to stop it and meet some old friends along the way. As usual a host of Kevin Smith regulars from previous films make cameos, and there are dozens of Easter eggs and pop culture references. And there’s a lot of witty, playful dialog that’s pretty fun. But it also has Smith’s usual vulgarity (raunchy sex jokes and whatnot) and he’s gone full PC (slipping in gender and identity politics). Jay and Silent Bob Reboot is a mess, but it has its moments and die hard Smith fans will likely enjoy it.
soooo bad. shame on u Kevin
After "dogma" there's only dogshit. But, I watched because I genuinely like Kevin Smith. So.. Who's the sucker?
Wow, those people are old! I watched his other movie, but I don’t think that I understand all reverences. Maybe it’s funnier if you watch all his movies again before watching this!
the Bourne Joke was really funny
WTF? every scene is like it belongs at the start of MTV movie awards section.
Only a few, very, slight smile raises. Loads of fourth-wall looks, and every one is awkwardly, cripplingly bad.
the end was OK.
Only watch this whilst you do some important work on the laptop.
The movie was enjoyable until till the daughter and her checklist PC friends appeared on screen and ruined the movie.

A ton of meta humor and cameos make this fun. Not the most inspired work but worth a watch if you like the characters of Jay and Silent Bob.
