Wow. This is...not good. Way too long and way too stupid. Seriously, who approved the final script for this one? Other than the occasional bit of humor, it is an absolute mess. How can you be entirely derivative and still screw it up this badly?
This wasn't the comeback i was expecting, but maybe after Fallen Kingdom my expectations to have a better JW movie were a bit too high. This one continues to deliver a serviceable but simplistic thriller story, dragging on a bit too much at times especially near the end. The addition of older cast from JP along with new connections to those stories and characters didn't do much to make this one feel fresh or interesting. I felt the special effects were even better than Fallen Kingdom which was already fantastic on that regard, so that was nice. Overall i think people who have enjoyed Fallen Kingdom will have no issues appreciating this one as well, it's a more of the same kind of deal with some funny moments and a couple of well made action sequences but, yet again, it lacks and can't quite catch the magic of Jurassic Park.
Better than Fallen Kingdom, but that wasn't exactly a high bar to clear. I was surprised to enjoy the first half more than the back half, as there were at least some action scenes that weren't nostalgia bait rehashes. Unfortunately, once we get to the new dinosaur park reserve, the movie starts to really bang us over the head with the greatest hits (e.g. Chris Pratt sticks out his hand at dinosaurs, Sam Neill/Laura Dern stare in awe at dinosaurs, Jeff Goldblum distracts dinosaurs, bad guy gets sprayed by dinosaurs, etc.). Some of these moments play just fine, and I was even okay with how they brought back Sam Neill's and Laura Dern's characters. They got more than just a glorified cameo, and there was some decent character moments in there. But at the end of the day, copying your older siblings homework can only take you so far.
The big problem here is the story. It's just not very good. The motivations are forced, the contrivances are plentiful, and the overall setup of the final act doesn't do anything to distinguish itself from Jurassic Park. In fact, all of the new elements introduced or further developed in this movie are paper thin and uncompelling (referring mainly to the locust problem and the continuation of the clone plotline from Fallen Kingdom). To the film's credit, the pacing is such that I was never bored, and I think the movie is perfectly serviceable as a mindless action blockbuster. But as a worthy successor to Jurassic Park? Far from it.
I believe that RLM in their review of the last one compared these movies to Taco Bell.
Everything has the same 5 ingredients, just placed in a different order.
It’s hard to argue with that after seeing this film.
It’s plagued by the exact same problem as the Terminator franchise; the creatives behind it are clueless on how to expand the franchise beyond the lore of the classics.
As a result, you get these rinse and repeat movies that are high on the nostalgia bait and devoid of anything interesting.
This somehow manages to be the worst one of the trilogy, I’d say it’s about on par with something like Jurassic Park III.
It’s somehow the dumbest Jurassic film (no, I haven’t forgotten about the military subplots in the previous 2, but this one literally introduces a new dinosaur nicknamed the ‘Giga’ and an evil company called ‘Biosyn’) with some of the cringiest dialogue and acting I’ve seen in a long time, none of which is embraced by the filmmakers. I think it’d play much better if this material was treated like a spoof, or at the very least more tongue in cheek (could’ve used more hallucinations of a dinosaur screaming “ALAN!”). It’s trying so hard to be sincere and Spielbergian, but it doesn’t work.
Moreover, the new characters are still either boring clichés or annoying, it looks too glossy, it’s way too long given how little’s going on, action’s alright but nothing that’s truly impressive or visceral; it’s just a bland mush of forgettable nothingness, and Jeff Goldblum’s charisma can’t save any of it.
3/10
This movie needed to be edited to 1:45. At 2:30 it was nearly unbearable.
There is click bait and there is trailer bait. So there is no Dino vs human and battle for dominion. Nope. Just more of the same. There is just another lab doing evil things where conflict is happening again on a lock down space (a island/park again). In between you have the old cast and new cast and new/new cast (including an Han Solo female replica). Then we get people running in one direction to save a person that is actually going in the opposite direction, we get James Bond spy scenes, Dino pursuits in Malta (the trailer bait) btw the Dino are commanded by a laser pointer!!, several scenes of dark hallways with Dino appearing, evil corporate scientist doing it for the money, scientists that has made a mistake and regrets it, and the obvious big Dino clash at the end.
I'ts been a long time since I've clapped at the end of a movie. Although the only reason I clapped was because I was finally free.
3 Thoughts After Watching ‘Jurassic World Dominion’:
It was pure nostalgic joy to see the original cast together after all these years. Their chemistry is still magic, and they were clearly the highlight of this film. I even liked the direction they went in with Grant and Ellie. I was hoping for that outcome since the beginning. We JP fans are lucky to see our OG trio finally reunite.
Despite a few solid action scenes and some brief moments of greatness, this ultimately did not FEEL like a Jurassic Park film, something the earlier sequels still managed to somewhat achieve. And that’s what bothers me the most. The first half felt very much like a Mission: Impossible flick. I could have done with less espionage and over-the-top characters like Santos.
That plot didn’t deserve Ellie, Alan, and Ian. For a film that was meant to bring together two generations and serve as an epic Jurassic finale, it was sadly a fail. So many missed opportunities. There was no sense of true closure. No impactful full-circle moments. I tried explaining the storyline to my sister and it proved difficult. I may have lost her at kidnapped clones. All a bit forgettable. It wasn’t terrible, but it missed the mark for such a beloved franchise.
Bonus Thought: They should have stuck with the classic dinos. These hybrids left zero impact. And I would have been pissed off if T-Rex died in the end.
Extra Bonus Thought: Was it just me or was Dodgson terribly-acted with the worst dialogue? There were so many moments from him that fell so flat.
Extra Extra Bonus Thought: One blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment I appreciated was when the T-Rex walked behind a circular structure and provided a brief nod to the iconic JP logo.
I've never seen a film so full of action that's this boring. It's just noise. Abysmal.
A missed opportunity to pay homage to the original films, returning the prominence to the initial characters, but the production effort is sustained by a weak and repetitive script, which contains all the defects of this reboot that Colin Trevorrow started in 2015. When the Hollywood machinery does not know how to stop in time, it ends up creating nonsense as boring and inconsequential as this one.
Definitely the worst in the franchise! Was expecting something dark, scary and almost apocalyptic but instead this was a cheesy action flick. Dinosaurs are running loose everywhere and were focusing on locusts somehow. Acting was bad and cheesy it really felt like watching actors act. People were laughing quite often in the theater due to the cheesyness. Kid behing me kept asking his parents if the movie was finishing soon. Only thing worth the watch is the dinosaur effects and Jeff Goldblum's funny lines.
How did we get here?
The first Jurassic Park is one of the best films ever made, and it didn’t get there by being an action flick with Dinos. It was slow-paced, philosophical, bought up relevant ethical questions and took a darker turn into almost horror-movie territory by the end while losing none of the majesty and awe that gripped us in the first half.
I wish people would stop encouraging this nostalgia-baiting nonsense . They just continue to pull in audiences and hope that they’ll clap like seals at references to old movies with no understanding of what made those movies good.
Don’t waste your money and time. Ridiculously bad.
A complete mess with a lot of unconnected scenes and no plot whatsoever.
After four years we finally get to see „the end of the Jurassic era“. And yes, it could have been better but I found it still to be a very entertaining movie. The plot is definitely flawed but the characters are great and it was awesome to see the legacy cast again after so many years. Laura Dern and Sam Neill are just a brilliant pair. As a final part to the Jurassic World trilogy it works well enough but don‘t expect the most intelligent story. But I think nobody is going to see a Jurassic Park/World movie with the expectation of getting a deep and complex storyline anyway.
It's so sad and such a disappointment to see the original cast reunited for the worst movie (so far) in the series.
The original Jurassic Park was a great movie that played around with an interesting idea. This has become nothing more then paint by numbers Hollywood action cinema that just happens to have dinosaurs in it.
wow that was really really boring. i guess its the movie with the least amount of dinosaurs.
What an utterly piece of horrible shit.
He was holding a dinosaur at the beginning of the movie by a rope and it slipped through his hands and he was holding the very end and then he was able to wrap the rope around a tree stump and he had loads of slack...... Come on how do they not notice things like this when filming
Worst of the bunch such a generic movie Skip this shitty movie
More like ‘Locusts: Da-Minion’, lol.
So here we are, at the end of the line for Jurassic Park/World series (well for now, since this movie made $995 million worldwide, becoming the second highest-grossing film of 2022), but as for now, it’s the finale.
There was a lot of potential for Dominion, with the last movie ‘Fallen Kingdom’ ending on a massive cliffhanger, with the dinosaurs being set free into the world and how the modern world handles the animal attacks. On top of that, this marks the return of the original 1993 characters: Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, and Ian Malcolm, with the OG actors returning as well. On top of that mount Everest of expectations, this is supposed to conclude the 29 years of Dino madness.
This should’ve been the Endgame of the Jurassic Park/World series, right guys? Instead, it’s ‘The Rise of Skywalker’.
Jurassic World Dominion is one of the most boring summer blockbusters I’ve seen this year. I have seen some people call this harmless fun, but I don’t know what movie they watched because this dragged! While watching this in the cinema, I was shocked by how bored I was during a loud movie. You’ve got seven characters equally spread out in different locations where the film would sometimes cut back to them, having their subplot. Although the main thing that moves the story along isn’t the dinosaurs taking over the world, no, it’s the locusts who are causing the conflict, and 99% of the movie focuses on a cloned kid. What? Why? And who cares?
Throughout the movie, I didn’t care about anything, and why should I? Everything in this new trilogy has been disappointing.
Each of these movies has an interesting premise that doesn't get developed enough and instead is turned into dumb action movies. The first Jurassic World movie shows the park opening, and we see John Hammond’s vision come to life. The second movie is where dinosaurs become a part of the illegal wildlife trade and the concept of human cloning. And the third movie is about dinosaurs running free in the modern world. And yet, after three entries, they ruined it each time.
Chris Pratt looks zoned out at this point. His eyes look so dead. Bryce Dallas Howard is at least trying, but I have to say, her character arc as Claire is the wildest in any blockbuster movie. In the first movie, she’s the park operations manager of Jurassic World and looks like a stereotypical businesswoman in a suit, and now in the third movie, she’s no longer in that position and lives a happy life in the woods with her adopted daughter who is a human clone. Lol, what?
Sam Neill and Laura Dern are the least painful part of the movie, as the scenes between Ellie and Alan felt like sweet old friends reuniting after all these years. Jeff Goldblum doesn’t give a shit and is doing whatever he wants, sometimes making fun of the material given to him, which is amusing to watch. I’ll give this movie credit for treating the original cast with respect, unlike the new Star Wars trilogy.
We have a newcomer to the franchise DeWanda Wise, a character with no more exciting features than just driving a plane and getting our heroes to a specific location for the climax. I don’t even remember her name, and neither would you.
The human antagonist in this movie is Lewis Dodgson; you know from the 1993 film who was there for two minutes to give Wayne Knight a Barbasol can, “Dodgson! DODGSON! WE’VE GOT DODGSON HERE! See? Nobody cares.” Anywhere, he’s the villain, who looks like he works for a phone company rather than a scientist. Dodgson is played by Campbell Scott, who replaced the original actor in the 1993 film, and if you want to know why? I would suggest googling Cameron Thor, then you’ll know why. Campbell Scott gives off an awkward and nervous performance, which explains why I didn’t find him threatening. There’s one unintentionally funny scene where he has a massive hissy fit in front of his co-workers. There are some strange choices in this movie.
While I respect the filmmakers for using practical effects for some scenes, especially the animatronic dinosaurs, but even that got overshadowed by the heavy CGI and my boredom. The action scenes weren’t exciting or memorable. One thing that didn’t make sense was how Claire managers to outrun a dinosaur with ease on foot, and yet Owen on a motorcycle couldn’t.
The movie felt unbelievably long, clocking in at two hours and twenty-seven minutes long, yet after all that build up still didn’t feel like it was ready to end. The dialogue is cheesy and awful. The editing is atrocious and has so many continuity errors. The “Joker dinosaur” aka Giganotosaurus Rex, which director Colin Trevorrow teased during the marketing, in the end, didn’t do anything noteworthy. It was acting like any other animal doing its thing to survive. We don’t see it killing anything except for a couple of locusts.
So yeah, I didn’t like this movie very much. This might be the worst movie in the Jurassic franchise. Much worse than Jurassic Park 3 and Fallen Kingdom. At least Jurassic Park 3 is shorter, and Fallen Kingdom had some good stuff. Both movies delivered on Dino action and are not painfully dull.
Overall rating: "Jurassic World? Not a fan."
It's like they took the worst aspects of Indiana Jones, Interstellar, and the new James Bond and sprinkled in some dinosaurs.
Far too long, but pretty good action sequences with a few interesting camera shots.
The story was more or less the same as every other JP movie, expect this one starred Tim Cook as the evil billionaire trying to rule the world from a compound that looked a little like 1 Infinite Loop.
For me there was just too much happening constantly. Normally that would take away from the story, but this was definitely a case of great FX needing something to glue the action sequences together. It’s almost like they designed the sequences first and then tried to figure out how to shoehorn a story into it.
Love how they made Tim Apple the villain, hated pretty much everything else.
Worst Jurassic movie made. So many plot holes, inconsistencies, and an attempt to make you feel sorry for the clone girl that released dinosaurs onto the world killing thousands of people in the process and ruining the earth's ecosystem. I have it 5 because of you know you're getting a B rate writing but at least some good acting it can be enjoyable/bearable.
Lots of outrageous action in exotic locations all over the world. And science, kinda.... did I just watch another Mission Impossible movie?
It should be one hour shorter. Pretty much forgettable.
If you like dinosaur movies about insects, this is for you.
I like Chris Pratt, but I’m sick of the whole hand thing that he does about a million times in the whole trilogy. Stop. It.
As a movie, it’s fine. Of course, it falls short of the original Jurassic Park, but I think I like it more than Park III for example. It’s cool to see the new cast and the old cast in this ‘final chapter’. That’s the biggest draw: nostalgia. As always, the movie looks great. No problem there.
What is a problem, is that it feels like two different movies crammed together, but it’s somehow still way too generic. It feels like a Jurassic movie and not a Jurassic movie at the same time. Kind of weird.
Absolutely representative of everything wrong with modern hollywood. I love it. It is a bad movie, the cgi looks like puppets in places the plot is thinly strung together video game cutscenes and all the major beats were included in the trailer. I'll watch it again, recommend keeping your expectations low and having a good time.
I struggled with this. It took me about four hours to watch because I just wasn't captivated enough to sit through it; I kept pausing to watch TikToks, I was that bored. I think that says it all. Also, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard have zero chemistry.
OK, so that series is completely dead.
"Jurassic World? Not a fan."
Me too Goldblum... me too. It's so weird that a movie can have badass dinosaurs, plenty of action, great color and cinematography, OG cast and still feel empty. I was really hoping this could be a great last hurrah, but oh well. Please let this be the end.
Well, the dinosaur special effects are quite decent. Unfortunately that is more or less the only reason to watch this movie.
I really do not understand how the Hollywood idiots can decide to spend loads of money on special effects but not bother to get a decent story/script writer? I mean come on, the story of this movie is just another thirteen on a dozen “big companies are bad” story with dinosaurs thrown in.
The story is convoluted to say the least and there is as much logic in it as you would expect from a Hollywood writer hack. Things more or less just happen and the “heroes” fight off one dinosaur attack after another on their way to the bad gay without ever tiring. And why the hell can Hollywood never produce a movie where the “heroes” doesn’t just stare like idiots at something until they are screwed?
Idiotic nonsens like being able to train a dinosaur to home in on someone like a heat seeking missile and chase them forever after having pointed a laser marker on them for a couple of seconds is also the usual unintelligent Hollywood nonsense that just ruins a movie for anyone with anything like average intelligence.
They brough back some of the old characters but they do not really help. The mostly act like they cannot wait to get paid and get out of there. Jeff Goldblum is his usual climate cult procelyte. I did not really like him in the first movie and he is even worse in this one. The bad guy totally lacks charisma. The only character I really liked was DeWanda Wise as Kyle Watts.
It is really a shame to see another franchise destroyed by today’s Hollywood morons. I’ve been a dinosaur fan since I was a kid and when the first Jurassic Parc came out with real, life like dinosaurs it was just wow. But now, not even the special effects can save this movie. It is not a good movie, plain and simple.
I have never watched a film that felt like it was built by an algorithm without one free thinking human involved like Jurassic World Dominion.
"Jurassic World? Not a fan."
The end of Fallen Kingdom was so exciting for me, now we are going to see humans and dinosaurs living together. I later heard that Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern would be there too and I was so happy.
Then I read some of the review here at Letterboxd and saw the movie myself and I am so disappointed. Maybe I'm even too generous giving it 2 stars but I just freaking love dinosaurs. But this movie is a. too long and b. boring. I didn't enjoy the plot, wanted to see more of the original trio, didn't like the locust and the action scenes didn't really do it for.
I just have to stick to the original trilogy and the first one of the second trilogy. I just enjoy Dinosaur Park movies.
Jurassic world Defecation!
Chris platt blue steels it,whilst holding up his hand at every fucking thing.
some other things happen, there's a massive bike V Dino chase scene which should have been the main action segment, but they just kind of speed through it, but the Dino's all have stormtrooper aim, and weigh as much as a feather so they just float by.
other stuff happens , piss poorly and ridiculous.
At least the on-screen text has the same font as used in Jurassic Park.
The amount of "oh f off"s I've yelled is off the dial.
I've almost suffocated laughing at some of the dialogue.
My favourite bit is where the pilot teleports from the room to coming down the ladder in the same room.
one beautiful image near the end.
This movie is precisely what you expect it to be, the plot is only slightly jiggled from movie to movie but more-or-less remains the same. Cool CGI dino's, people trying not to get eaten, people getting eaten, unbelievable action, evil corporation trying to weaponize dino's (to an extreme level this time) and blah, blah, blah, barf.
Really the only redeeming quality this movie brings to the table is reuniting the original cast and the new cast for one last send-off, that brought an element of fun nostalgia to the movie.
When Chris Pratt does the whole "nod to the raptor" and "give the stop hand gesture to the raptor" and all of that you have to ask yourself: would this work on anything other than maybe a dog? I mean, if you did that to a lion you would be the lions human-kabob pretty instantly, but the hyper intelligent (as we are led to believe) raptor is like "oh, ok Chris, I get ya".... It was cringe worthy in the 4th installment, nauseating the 5th and is absolutely stupid in this one.
If this was the only movie in this realm, it's a watchable but otherwise so-so flick - as a continuation it's better than 2 and 3, not as good as 4 and about as mediocre as 5.
One of the worst jurassic world movie ever created. Bad script.
Just end it with jurassic world 2.
well, this was a whole bunch of nothing!
Futile , Tedious and Repetitive
Jurassic World is a tiresome and unexciting conclusion to a muddled and wearisome franchise. Other than extensive use of digitally created dinos, the film offers nothing more in terms of storytelling and logic, criminally destroying the legacy of decades old Jurrasic Park trilogy by bringing back the trio of Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum to only bring back nostalgia and make a business out of it. The film drastically suffers because of a futile script and repetitive template of a bad company doing bad things having a bad businessman behind it. Watta a complete mess. The action scenes are not intriguing enough as you dont even connect with the characters to root for them. Overall , a highly tiring film to sit through and disaster in terms of concluding a adored franchise.

God was that bad.
Jurassic World Insect would have been the right title.
I miss the energy of the first part, the refreshing sci-fi elements and of course the dinosaurs.
It was as if an AI had remixed the biblical plague of locusts with Wolverine and Jurassic World elements
This was another cash-grab movie. It's a shame that I thought it was worth watching, and also that I didn't record that I've watched it so I've ended up watching it again. I will be sure not to make a third watch. It has a lot of big name potential but it doesn't deliver with the story they are given.
I am super disappointed with this film.
Should be called. Jurassic World:Boring ass story about cloned girl nobody asked for.
Far more accurate.
**Don’t waste your time on this trash **
4/10
Nah didn't work for me this one, on for to long and a boring story and that teenager girl I found so annoying, she made the movie even more of a slog to grind through.
Her acting was awful and you could tell she's been in about two movie roles,
This and the previous
Movie.
This movie never quite worked out
what it wanted to be, so ended just being
Bland and forgettable.
Half way through I was expecting the
Mission impossible
Theme to kick in.
It was all a jumbled mess
With I don't know
Stuff just happening
And people just doing stuff straight from
the left field that made absolutely no sense.
Yes we had the
Old meets New thing at the end but that was one element in a movie I had no care for or feelings about at that point.
Verdict: stop now..just
Stop and understand when
Everything has it's time
And runs it's course.
Yet another sequel that didn't need to be made and served no purpose. A lot of this movie didn't make a damn bit of sense, and it seemed like after sitting through over 2 1/2 hours, we were back where we started at the beginning after the contrived plot about super locusts was solved. The dinosaurs seemed like an afterthought through a lot of the movie, and other than the obligatory fights, they were just kind of there. The only saving grace was the cinematography, which was fantastic. John Schwartzman really created some memorable visual moments on the screen.
What a train wreck.
Last one I hope ?’
Boring, no sense, bad movie!!
Like a flare, the Jurassic saga that began in the 90s with Jurassic Park has (hopefully) come to an end, starting with a blinding flash and ending in a dim light that you wish would end sooner rather than later.
For JWD is still a dull, overlong film whose only attraction is the inclusion of beloved characters from the original film. But their inclusion doesn't even manage to save the film, which is forced to distribute the screen time as evenly as possible between all the characters (who knows if it's to avoid hurting the sensibilities of some viewers), resulting in sequence after sequence of scenes that have little or nothing to do with the saga and which are limited to showing the most colourful and eye-catching dinosaurs in the catalogue.
Even the digital effects are not 100% correct, resulting in an excessive amount of scenes in which the animation of the dinosaurs (especially those that move at higher speeds) is crude and clumsy, typical of lower quality studios and films that have not cost 165 million dollars. It is surprising that, with Spielberg at the helm of the production, a product of this quality has been allowed to stand.
General suggestion for future makers of dinosaur flicks: just stick with the dinosaurs in a dinosaur movie. Nevertheless, aside from the main story arc, the sub-plots - especially with the orignial characters - where quite okay. My personal highlight, Jeff Goldblum. Enjoy it with a bucket of popcorn while ignoring the giant grasshoppers.
This movie was 2 hours too long.
A film where Apple CEO Tim Cook makes his acting debut.
Poor script.
A rushed story, even though it has a duration of 2 hours. Presenting the old characters does not have a significant change. This film doesn't answer our questions, it adds more questions. The point of this film is just to brag about their dinosaurs.
OMG what a boring film, I actually nodded off about half an hour before the end for 10 mins and when I awoke it hadn't changed (still boring) the only bit that kept me watching it was Maisie's hot redhead mom ;-)
The first movie i have ever dropped in my life... This shouldnt even have an hour... 2:30 is absolutely unbearable
Such a disappointing conclusion to a legendary saga.
Its way longer than it needs to be and it feel like 2 different movies are playing at once. The first hour is nonsensical boring action with characters that are introduced then soon abandoned who serve no purpose to the movie. The actual classic Jurassic Park story doesn’t come into play until the last 45 minutes (out of 2.5 hrs). The send off didn’t have much emotion, except for a nice looking final shot.
Really neat to see the older characters back with the new, but besides that... phew this is rough.
It's shit. oh i've got to put more words in. Okay, it's really shit.
jurassic park, starring Tim Cook. worst acting of the year, worst dialogue of the year, worst jokes of the year.
This was a slog to sit through. I enjoyed the first one of the new trilogy (mostly because of Nostalgia bait), the 2nd one was dumb but still enjoyable to a certain degree... but this one was almost unbearable to sit through.
Jeff Goldblum and DeWanda Wise absolutely carried this movie. I appreciate what they were trying to do, and I'm glad the cast had a good time (especially the OG 3, it was delightful to see them together again) but this movie was a mess, there were way too many story threads and not enough time to deal with them all. This needed to be two movies, with more dinosaurs involved. I had such high hopes, especially after seeing how cool the Dino Tracker site they put up was (which, as it turns out, was mostly clips from this movie).
Besides the enormous number of plot threads — we saw probably six different locations in the first ten minutes of the movie — there were some serious problems with the dinosaurs themselves, in my opinion. I came to this after recently binging Prehistoric Planet and also the Camp Cretaceous show, and the differences are glaring. In this, the dinosaurs seemed to be either slightly unfinished-looking CGI or practical effects (either puppets or animatronics or some combination of the two) being handled by people who had never done so before. The closeups on the atrociraptors reminded me of the Goombas from the 90s Super Mario Bros. movie; the teeth didn't make sense, they looked like anglerfish teeth. The lystrosaurus (which I had to look up) looked like some type of Star Wars alien, and not in a good way. The dimetrodons were neat, but we barely got to see them. The dilophosauruses were definitely puppets, and looked/moved like it. I think my favorite was probably the therizinosaurus, a species I only know from playing The Isle, and which looked cool, sounded cool, added tension, and was incredibly badass by the end. Quetzalcoatalus was great too, but not around for very long. But the key to good CGI and good practical effects is having them be realistic enough that the viewer doesn't notice that they're not actual living things. Many, MANY of the dinosaurs in this failed that test.
It wasn't a bad movie. But considering its budget and the acting talent involved and the enormous weight of plot resolution it had riding on it, it should have been an amazing movie. The great thing about the Jurassic Park/World movies is that even when they're pretty bad (looking at you, The Lost World), they're still fun to watch because DINOSAURS!!! This one doesn't quite even manage that, there are too many people and too few dinosaurs. If you're a fan of the series, obviously watch this to wrap up all the plot, but I doubt I'll be watching it again.
At least Rexy's still alive and back on top. Also I guess the ending, with the dinosaurs mingling with regular animals, was pretty cool, if a little hamfisted.
Edit: Alright, I watched it again just so I could properly absorb all of the nonsense that happened. Besides the previous issues I had, I was more aware this time of the number of things that seemed to be happening just because they looked cool, and either served no real purpose in the plot, were never explained, or both. Owen riding a horse and splitting one parasaurolophus off from the group had no point and wasn't explained at all. Owen and Claire have been living with Maisie in that tiny cabin for four years? With no mention of school or jobs or anything? The stuff with the locusts was explained but didn't need to be there; they could have found some other reason for our heroes to go to the Biosyn sanctuary, easily, without the complication of prehistoric locusts. Everything in Malta could have been excluded and covered in some other way, and was entirely to look cool and have dinosaurs running around. I don't know. It was trying to be a Jurassic movie AND Indiana Jones or some sort of espionage thriller at the same time. It was too scattered, too many locations and new species that really WERE there just because, not enough of the old favorites, and again, too many story elements being handled at once. And the dinosaurs are still largely sub-par for this franchise that pioneered modern dinosaurs in movies. I would've much preferred a movie that detailed how humans were adapting to living with dinosaurs around the world, because THAT would've been very interesting to watch.
Wanted to like it for the nostalgia and the fact the original was a personal fave when I was 12 watching it in theatres. Now that I'm 40 I'm sure the original would still be a fave, but this new generation trilogy finale wasn't very good. There were moments I smiled, but it felt wooden and like cardboard for the most part to me. Bad acting from the baddies, and just overall meh. Some fun dino scenes here and there and the movie really does look nice at home on a 65" lg OLED television in 4k Dolby vision. Overall it's a 5.4 for me. My other half gave it a 7.5 so take that for what it's worth.
I watched at 2x and it was pretty good. I imagine it must have been a pain at twice that length.
Genuinely an enjoyable movie, I don't know why so many people disliked the movie. This is exactly what you would expect from a Jurrasic Park Movie, a thrilling adventure and I loved seeing the old cast. More fun tense moments with Apex predators and total fun time, for any Jurrasic Park fan you will enjoy it.
A proper nostalgic dinosaur ride.
not sure if the script was written by a computer or dinosaurs.
I think it's a good film? Honestly, it left me a little confused (not about the plot, just what I thought of it). Certainly not exceptional and certainly not terrible either. Very much carried by the actors, the OGs especially, as the plot is paper thin. But yeah, a little too long and a surprising lack of death, once I thought about it afterwards, kinda made the stakes never really feel that high.
In my opinion this is the best of the modern trilogy. It's not perfect, there are a few places where the choices made by people aren't 100% understandable but I think it has great action, tension and humour
If you liked Fallen Kingdom then you might like this one and if your like me and didn’t like fallen kingdom then this is also bad. I was actually excited for this one like the last one and yet again disappointed. I just found myself not interested and not caring about anything that happened. I never felt tense and scared for the characters and I feel like this franchise only works in the park opening setting. This movie is bland and boring and expects to wow people because their our dinosaurs which isn’t impressive anymore.
This is a mix of Fast & Furious, Top Gun, Mission Impossible, all at once. WITH DINOSAURS!
By the way, I wouldn't be with Chris Pratt... everything happens to him. Or I would, because he saves everyone all the time.
I'm not sure what else people would expect from a silly dinosaur movie... it's just what it always has been: a bunch of dinosaurs doing what they do best. And it's a good cinema experience to enjoy — obviously it's not meant to have a great story behind, and I've never expected this trilogy to have it. The special effects are really really good looking. I enjoyed it with all it's flaws.
Funny how the whole world broke out in Dinosaurs when only a couple were let free in the last movie. Plus a lot of the dinosaurs on the loose weren’t species that were let go in the last movie.
It’s nice that there’s a raptor with feathers. Though, why ? A couple of dinosaurs were let loose and raptors suddenly look how they are supposed to ?
There’s a little too many heroes and it never felt like any were in danger. The movie needed more villains with guns to be eaten.
With that said it was nice to see the Jurassic Park characters team with the Jurassic World characters. Though all they really get to do is run away from dinosaurs together. While saying that they know each other’s work.
Original Jurassic Park, believable story line, believable action sequences, etc.
Jurrassic World 3, horrible CGI, terrible story and super unbelievable action sequences. A woman villain who apparently has no fear of bullets and just walks away while people are shooting at her.
If you never watched this, you wouldn't be missing anything
I see the Jurassic world added some token black people lol
It was Ok, nothing more.
Thought thou, was the baddi boss man supposed to be Tim Cook?
Jurassic World Dominion may not have been the payoff to the trilogy that I expected, however the cast delivers and the movie offers dinosaur sized action. I was thoroughly entertained and the return of the older cast and homage to the original Jurassic Park was delightful.
Blockbuster bait and it's obvious because of the IP. They even made the main villain look like Steve Jobs and it's insulting on his part for them to do that.
JP3 is even better than this film.
I could barely pay attention
This was really good, solid 7/10. I don't know what others watched. This was better than Fallen Kingdom and a good way to end the new trilogy, as a fan of dinosaurs and the Jurassic Park/World... World.. Its a thumbs up from me.
It felt more of a nostalgia push than a solid smart blockbuster. Don't get me wrong, I loved seeing the old vs. the new, but maybe there was too much focus on being iconic again. The cgi also felt like it could have been a lot better, and if it was as good as they could get, then they didn't show it enough. Also, the casting for the new people (not OGs) was terrible. Nonetheless, it's a dino movie with fun action and big spectacles, so I'll want more of it forever.
I mean it's dinosaurs chasing people. It had a few throwback scenes but overall it's what you'd expect.
+1 for old but gold characters only. And in general - simple movie, a bit weaker than the previous parts. The final battle is boring and very short, not interesting and exciting
Finally watched this movie. Although the concept is the same as always, the mix of old and new generation it’s just sentiment that makes it nice and fun to watch. There are some scenes that winks at previous movies, really liked that small detail.
I very much enjoyed the movie. At least it was about dinosaurs again. And great to see this reunion. They did that quite well. Lots of winks to the earlier movies and some other movies.
The bridge that Masie crosses, looks a whole lot like the one from A Quiet Place. At least from memory.
Sure there were some scenes that do not make a lot of sense, but its forgiveable.
My only true complaint is little to no John Williams music. There was a half hint to the theme of Jurassic Parc, but not enough
This one is alot more cerebral than the other films in this trilogy. It focuses alot on conservation and ecological issues.
So... are accents in our DNA? How come a girl who spent 4 years with Claire and talks with the British accent?
I liked it. It was very entertaining and with all those moments bringing the first movie to this one. I found a couple of editing mistakes, but I think that is an ever present thing in action movies. I like to think this is the definitie ending for both trilogies.
I'm a bit torn on this one. The first half was just bad. Badly written, and needlessly long. The second half was better, even entertaining in some parts. But it's being carried by the old cast all the way.
So many cliches. I liked.
Two generations come together to save the world in Jurassic World: Dominion. When Maisie Lockwood is kidnapped from Owen and Claire and sold to a genetics lab, they attempt to rescue her; meanwhile Ellie Sattler works with her old friend Alan Grant try to track a genetically engineered insect that’s threatening the world’s food supply. The writers do some serious reconning to give Maisie a whole new backstory and importance, and to change the few dozen dinosaurs that escaped the Lockwood auction into hundreds (which can now breed somehow). And as a result, the story doesn’t feel like a continuation of the series. However, the action scenes and dinosaur chases are incredibly intense and exciting. Also, it’s kind of a treat to see the old and new casts come together. Yet while it’s entertaining and has its moments, Jurassic World: Domination is a disappointing film that doesn’t really add much to the series.
I watched this literally a couple of days ago and I can’t remember any major plot points… it was okay when it was on, and I liked it. But apparently it was very forgettable.
Seriously. What's wrong with you people...? Why is everyone soo angry these days? This is not the dumpster fire most are claiming it to be. Is it one of the lesser entries in the series? Sure, but it's got some fun stuff going for it. There are loads of entertaining sequences, it's got some neat ideas at play and there's plenty of fan service to satisfy. Even though y'all seem to be crying most about said fan service, but if they didn't put that stuff in there you would be whining that it wasn't there... There's no pleasing audiences sometimes.
Lewis Dodgson reminds me very much of Tim Cock. In itself an acceptable film.
certainly not the best but by this point in a franchise i don't really expect anything to be great?? the OG cast was so lovely to have though, truly.
To combine the the original cast and with the modern day cast should've been a recipe for success but this failed way short. From beginning to end this movie was very difficult to keep pace with. Just like the original Jurassic Park, the sequels get worse.
Honestly a little better than JW1 and JW2. I have to keep reminding myself of that because it's not a good movie. It's just not so awful my brain hurts. That said the things that really stick out in my head were the amount of casual death. They treated people getting eaten like it was a bloody cartoon. Jurassic Park made the dinosaurs horrifying creatures that would kill you and sometimes did but Jurassic World just throws it to the side. Yeah we have dinosaurs, yeah people get eaten by them but here's the real story. I saw a dude get eaten in the background and no one flinched or cared not even the camera man. it's callous and weird and makes me care less about the movie when their biggest monsters can eat everyone except the cast whom I do care about.
There were a LOT of cinematic motif homages to previous JPs. Not just Dr Grant referencing how he knows how much electricity was in the fences. There are recreations of scenes that expand or re-imagine their equivalent. My favorite being Ian Malcolm redoing his T-Rex distraction with... better results.
I think I've talked myself into giving this an average rather than below average score. There was a lot to work with and honestly they did a not awful job of it all things considered with all the awfulness of the first two. I have to admit surprise it didn't extend into the final one.
Trying to incorporate the original cast was a nice thought, but horrible execution. This was such a huge let down. The constant attempt at trying to help us viewers understand what the hell is going on made for a horrible watching experience.
the plot was somewhat better than i thought it would be. Thought, it was still lacking in substance
To be honest, I was expecting a lot more from this film. I thought it would be fantastic, but it was a bit of a let down.
There were some good bits, but the overall story was weak, and I started to get bored after an hour or so.
Previous films have been better.
Not terrible, but not great
Hahaha, I understand what about me anymore and how much time they will take for the reimbursement

Not the best movie from the series but still enjoyable. Especially seeing the old and new generation together is nice.
