Oh come on guys! The movie was good entertainment. Why whine about every little detail, when you can enjoy two hours of mindless fun and action. The ending was awesome. Can't wait where this is going.
Oh come on.
Enough with this dinosaur / dog thing.
Enough with the crappy mutant dinosaurs.
I want to see real dinos that existed not some crappy mutant dino playing dog.
The premise and script of the movie are stupid as hell, dino animal lovers, greedy humans, laughable warlords buying soldiers/dinos. I guess the writers are 8 years old...
Although i like Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard the only good things are cgi and the last 5 min of the movie.
Enough said, bad movie not worthing more time of my life.
I'm going to synthesize the film in a quote from Jurassic Park: "That is one big pile of shit"
Don't know who is more annoying, Franklin or Jar Jar Binks.
This was so dumb, it could have been a Transformers movie. I'm actually surprised that Michael Bay wasn't in charge.
Enjoyable, some fun scenes, but far less epic than the first. It's also a very obvious setup for the next one, which seems hinted at to be much more epic in scale.
This is definitely my least favorite entry in the series. I think the movie is passable and certainly entertaining, but not always in a good way.
I liken it to trying to get a story from a child that has been out running around. It doesn't have the patience...it just blurts out the story in big gabs and then you sit through ponderous nonsense that doesn't really work. It takes forever to really get going and the entire movie turns on a dime and labors to the next set piece.
But the set pieces of action are very well executed. The problem is when the director gets to suspense. There are a number of scenes the director really needs to catch his breath and let the suspense build...but it rushes. The scene in the bedroom where the dino pulls back the bed sheet in the trailer actually reveals better in the trailer than the film.
The two leads do a good job, BUT THAT SUPPORTING CAST. They are stuck with characters that either stop the movie cold (Maisie), are over the top villains (won't reveal here), or are just annoying as hell (you'll figure out what two those are fairly quickly). It just seems like the movie and characterizations are so RUSHED that they really don't take the time to make things deeper.
What's odd about that is...this movie has slow parts. It could be done....they choose not to!
The director does, however, come up with some nice iconic shots. The last look at the dock of Isla Nebar is haunting in particular. The strobe of dinos in the distance during a lightning storm are very effective. But other scenes are just altogether theft from Spielberg. There is a dumb waiter scene that I swear they steal note for note from the original JP. There is a scene that mimics the open to Raiders of the Lost Ark (swap dinos for natives chasing Indy and you get the idea). It comes up a lot and it just is done so forced it doesn't land as an homage as much as wholesale theft.
I really wanted to like this movie. I guess I'm left with tolerating it.
It's always someone wanting to weponize dinosaurs. Why can't it be a rogue circus ringmaster looking for...oh wait I suppose that borderlines King Kong.
Damn movie has me feeling sad for dinosaurs. They deserved better than their fate on the island. Building the park around a volcano was poor planning on someone's part.
"Hopefully someone got fired for that blunder"
Everyone watches this series for the dinosaurs and they look good here so what else really needs to be covered. The story is dumb. It's for 10-year olds. But hey, the dinosaurs are cool. I''ll give it another point for the great looking volcanic eruption effects.
It's the same everytime a great movie gets sequels. People keep comparing the new movies with the older ones and, obviously, they end up crying because "it's not even close to the original one!!".
Can't you understand that they are two different trilogies?? Around 20-30 years ago they introduced us to the Jurassic park universe, with some characters. It was a great triloguy, with great characters and great-looking dinosaurs. But this is another story, another trilogy with new characters. In a new era in the Jurassic park universe. What did you expect, a copy-and-paste of the older trilogy?
I liked these new movies. They are not as good as the first ones, but they are really good too. The original ones are a 10/10, but these aren't a 3/10 for sure like some people stated. I have seen worse action movies with like 8/10 reviews just because they weren't sequels to any great movie... But people can't use logic.
I didn't think it would be possible to do worse than the first Jurassic World but this movie proved me wrong.
Because of the trailers, I was already suspicious and I thought that I wouldn't like the movie but I still wanted to give it a chance and perhaps be surprised. Unfortunately, I just spent my time eye-rolling at the predictability of the plot, the dumb actions of the characters and the overall silliness of this blockbuster. Nothing makes sense, the new characters are irritating and cliché and the villain is just ridiculous.
Some ideas come from The Lost World with a first part where the characters are back on the island and then a second part where we are in a city with dinosaurs, besides we also have the scene where Blue's injury is treated just like the baby T-Rex.
A thing I really hated was again their need to create dinosaurs like they did with the Indominus but this time it is even worse because now they play with humans too, as we can see with the cloned little girl (I didn't know I was watching Resident Evil).
At this point the only good things about this movie are the music, the CGI and the cameo of Malcolm but it is not enough.
I wanted to see a movie about dinosaurs and I just watched a movie with fake dinosaurs, because mutants and "dinosaurs" acting like dogs have nothing to do with the real creatures we heard of.
As a kid dinosaurs was one of my great interests. Thus I was so thrilled by the first Jurassic Park movie, which I thought then, and still think today, is a great movie. Sadly the following movies have been a mixed bag to say the least.
This movie falls in the “that was disappointing” category I am afraid. It is obviously that however wrote the story was a lazy bugger that simply rehashed old bits and standard Hollywood cheap concepts and then added some frustrating preaching to it.
The two scenes, one at the beginning and one in the end, where Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) was just sitting and ranting on and on was enough by itself to drag down the movie a star or two. We get it, however wrote that crap do not like gene science. Then go and write a piece in a science journal or something. Oh wait, it would not have been excepted since there was no science in it, just ranting mixed up with poorly hidden religious beliefs. So instead you had to go and ruin a movie which was meant to simply entertain.
The we have the rest of the story. The best, or should I say the kindest, word for describing it would be “predictable”. How many times are we going to do the big company captures animals for profit story? At least try to put some intelligence in the plot if you have to rehash it over and over again. It has even been done before in the same franchise for Christ sake!
I would lie if I did not say that I found, at least, some entertainment watching the movie though. But pretty much all of it came from watching the scenery and the special effects. They at least were pretty good. But then I do like big monsters stomping around wreaking havoc and eating people, especially when it is the bad guys.
There were some parts that was rather funny. I think Christ Pratt, and most of the other actors as well for that matter, did a fairly good job out of the lousy script. The idea of using a Stygimoloch to break free was quite cool and the havoc he wreaked somewhat funny. The part where Wheatley stop in the middle of all the chaos to extract a tooth as a bloody trophy was just silly though.
The end scenes was just frustrating. However wrote that ought to be shot. A few dinosaurs escape and then the conclusion is that humanity have to live side by side with dinosaurs from then one. What a load of rubbish!
Sadly, despite the genre being a favorite of mine and the special effects being pretty good, this film did not make it for me due to the unintelligent and lazy script.
Whenever a Jurassic Park movie is made, no matter how it ends up being, it is worth watching. Just like the Star Wars movies. This one was more of a remake than a sequel. I actually can't believe how much of the plot was just the same or similar to the other movies. It must be really hard to think of a fresh idea concerning plot. It was full of the usual dumb stuff but also full of the usual awesome stuff!
Oh I do so love it when bad people get eaten by dinosaurs.
The only good part of this movie are the last four words.
Quite boring except for maybe half an hour, and extremely dumb except for... no, all of it was dumb.
This is the most forgettable from the series. I had to rewatch it in preparation for the next installment.
This movie made appreciate Jurassic Park 2: The lost world.... imagine that
“These creatures were here before us. And if we're not careful... they're going to be here after. Life cannot be contained. Life breaks free. Life... finds a way. Welcome... to Jurassic World.”
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom takes place three years after the events of the first movie. The left remaining dinosaurs are left on the island as a volcano erupts. As the advertisements put it, “The park is gone”. All of this only raises one question: Why would you put a family theme park next to an active volcano with dinosaurs?
Anywhere...
After the monster success of “Jurassic World” a sequel was certain to happen and will find new ways to bring these extinct animals back onto the big screens. While I enjoyed the first movie a lot, but nowhere near as good compared to Jurassic Park. Had its moments overall, just not Spielberg level good.
We have a new director J.A. Bayona, with Colin Trevorrow only writing this time. Bayona is best known for horror and supernatural tragics, so I was interested for what he will bring to this new franchise. He dose bring a lot those elements into scenes where tension actually worked this time around. You can see the influence to older movies like “Nosferatu” and the golden age of monster movies into play. I must admit, the cinematography is visually stunning and makes the dinosaurs look terrifying. Unfortunately, all of this gets watered down by a terrible script, convenient situations, and the final result is Hollywood fluff.
The visual effects, (for the most part) looked really good and never takes you out of the movie when interacting around non-digital setting/people. I noticed some animatronics dinosaurs, but can easily get overshadowed by the heavy CGI. When I said “for the most part”, there are some shots were it looked a bit noticeable. Other than that, the visual effects are the strongest element to the film.
Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard ain't brilliant in terms of acting, but at least have great chemistry. If look at any interviews or press event, the two get along so well it easily shows on screen. The biggest change in terms of character is Bryce Dallas Howard, who’s not as idiotic like the first. While both characters aren't great, as some questionable decisions are made, although slightly better compared to the first. Although their motivations for saving the dinosaurs only makes you agree with Ian Malcolm (Goldblum) even more.
The film introduces new characters played by Justice Smith and Daniella Pineda, who tag along with are main characters. One of them can access and hack into anything, but he’s a afraid of pretty much everything - the drop of a penny can startle him, probably thinks it’s a T.Rex. Also his screaming can go right through you. The other takes care of Blue after being badly injured and that’s really it. Both of them didn't do much for me. Half way through the movie you forgot about them, because they literally disappear from the film and later come back in the third act.
The movie is, at the very least, self aware of itself. Evidently by Chris Pratt’s character before agreeing to go on a mission ironically states “What could go wrong” when things go wrong. Giving small winks to the audiences when the obvious is gonna happen. With the endless amount of stupid decisions on top of more stupid decisions to push the plot along - Which I guess if every character had a brain, this movie wouldn't exist, then again it wouldn't be a great loss.
Speaking of idiots, let's talk about the villains. I’m not gonna beat around the bush when I say this, but these are some of the most cartoonist villains I've seen in awhile. It’s pathetic how tedious they are. You wanna know they evil plan and goal? Guess, just guess:
Yep it’s money - Easily one of the worst.
If you’re looking forward for Jeff Goldblum’s return to the series and what role he will have on the story, just from the promotional material alone; well I got some bad news for you. He’s only in two scenes and the total screen time is one minute. All of it is courtroom debates. His character adds nothing to the film, just recycles dialogue from the previous films. What a waste of Goldblum.
Overall rating: While coming off as negative towards the film, it’s not bad or painfully to watch. I mean, it’s stupid fun. The ideas are present in ‘Fallen Kingdom’ for what it’s trying to set up or be, just needs a sharper execution. For those wondering about the third movie, don’t worry...
The studios will find a way.
More like Fallen King-DUMB.
It's like a remake of the first Jurassic World but in a different location. Trashing of a human setting, battle between two dinosaurrs, a another (again) super hybrid. The first one did it better.
Oh, and the hybrid can open windows :')
Clearly, I didn't understand why they portay like 30 dinosaurs as sort of an invasion or an apocalypse. Have they heard of the US Air Force ? God damnit.
It's a parody of itself more than anything else...
We've entered into a new era of "Jurassic Park turned into a badly thought out fairy tale"
Had low expectations for this movie based on word of mouth, and that probably helped my reception of it, which was generally positive. Seems like it must be difficult to find a compelling story because this movie relies more on over-the-top dinosaur action, instead of story. Which is okay as long is it carries it out well, which it does. But that really keeps it from reaching its potential, which should be enormous. The ending leaves open an unlimited amount of possibilities for a great story in a sequel, and it'd be nice to see that taken advantage of, but not holding out too much hope for that to occur.
There is absolutely nothing new or creative here. The plot is entirely a clone of past outings, right down to all of the same stupid decisions and the same greedy motivations of the bad guys. All of the same one-dimensional characters are present, as well, but with new faces and names. The few attempts at comic relief fail completely. Pratt tries his best in his usual likable way, but this movie is an embarrassment, both from a creative standpoint and for the fact that the entire reason for its existence is the obvious cash grab from the studio as it continues to milk the franchise for all that it's worth.

I think the next Jurassic park movie will be more interesting and challenging specially in the part of the creation of the story merely known as Writers. A good movie will become a great movie when the writing is good.. Of course plus the amazing acting of the actors and good direction of directors.
Jurassic World was a decent movie and I was hoping that Fallen Kingdom would be somewhat close to it. But it wasn't. The trailer did not look good, but I still went, hoping that the trailer would be deceptively bad. It reflected the movie perfectly. The story was lacking and I did not care for the characters. I do not mind watching movies that are rated bad, sometimes I enjoy them and have a fun time watching them. But this was not one of those movies.
It won’t let me play the damn video!!
This film had stupid people making idiotic decisions. I found myself constantly shouting at people for being stupid. Full of clichés. But that's what made the film great. If they made a 'realistic' dino film, then it would be boring. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The suspense was great. Was a fun ride.
Waiting for the next sequel... I can't wait to see what they plan to do next! This part was extremely interesting to watch and the plot twist was brilliant! The course of the movie plot was a little bit typical, yet certain details did make it different. I was not disappointed at all.
Blue!!!...Do you trust that I do not want to see you die here tonight?!... You're my boy, Blue!!!!
It really doesn't matter much what type of plot they throw in for me, it's just so cool every single time to see those dinosaurs come to live and how realistic they make 'em look.
Unlike most movie-goers, I enjoyed it a lot. I love the Franchise, I love Dinosaurs so obviously I love these movies. I have to admit though, that it was predictable from the very beginning when Claire visited the Lockwood Mansion.
After that you could easily tell what was going to happen. Some scenes were just so obscure and ridiculous, because of that, I had to laugh out loud. Many elements were recognizable from previous films but I actually liked that. I also felt very emotional during the dramatic scenes on the Island and might've shed some tears.
The ending was [spoiler] quite open and left room for another movie but[spoiler] I hope that the future holds a storyline that wont be as predictable as this movie.
I'd give this a whole 7/10.
A film of two halves. On the one hand, it's a little predictable - nostalgic throwbacks to the original; another genetically modified dinosaur - yet, on the other hand, a little different to the norm. With a disaster movie approach in the first half, followed by a touch of horror in the second, the film at least does its best to get out of the jungle setting and into something less predictable. The film dragged at times, there was some dull exposition now and again, but overall it was a pretty good film. However, after the third film in this rebooted trilogy, the gates to Jurassic World need to be closed for good, as i'm not sure where the franchise could feasibly go.
This movie BLEW me away. Perfect combination of humor and action. Loved the ending too.
I like how these movies decided to go their own way instead of... straightup replicating the original trilogy. Does that make any sense? Lol
I also love the nods to the original movies and Chris Pratt is such a good character in these movies.
Loved it, 10/10, would watch again ♡
Probably the worst Jurassic movie but it's always fun to watch.
When you’re rooting for the dinosaurs to eat most of the characters (especially Franklin) during the movie, something’s not quite right.
jock lead, check
hot girl with all-time perfect makeup and visible rack cleavage for male gaze, check
nerd guy with glasses, and curly hair, check
nerd girl also with glasses, shorter hair, childish clothes, trying to show "female power" but failing anyway, check
the movie is riddled with clichés and tropes. every scene, moment a child can predict. cliché!!.
it has released much early in my country by the way. and I don’t think anyone cares for a SPOILER in this movie/franchise??. but you’ve been warned none the less
u almost think. oh wow, I did not expect that to happen. good work. NOPE SURPRISE!!! that’s exactly cliché thing which was supposed to happen.
some dumb person smiling and being happy that he escaped a dino. nope he will be EATEN!!!!.
every henchman in the bad guy's team was an animal cruelty symbol. u know so that we would try to root for the poorly written "so called" good guys I guess....
the dialogues are also cliché. "holy shit" "you have to see this”. we have all heard this before.
it was like this movie was written with a book of cliché’s nearby. I don’t get it, this is a sequel right? so why can’t they do something new. carry things on. why do they have to have the very same moments throughout all the series. it’s almost like they are welcoming "new audiences" to the franchise. and so there u go: here is 1 unrelated guy eaten by a huge dino. here is a scene where someone barely escapes. here is a classic "safe" dinosaur with relaxing bg music for all chars to see. typical Jurassic movie tropes here.
and to fill things up they also had some horror tropes for no reason. even some non dino ones!!. like a little girl scares her nanny. and we as audiences have to witness few seconds of a scene where it felt like we are watching a murder movie.
the characters are horribly written.
why are we supposed to root for Owen (Chris Pratt) again? he seems like a jerk. who doesn’t care for anything at all ever but himself. Claire breaks up with him every time for some reason... (but its ok because they will get back together of course, because... movie). he had abandoned his care for dinosaurs. and we never know why. pretty ex gf just guilt trips him over one beer and he is ready to join the adventure. WHY??? WHAT CHANGED HIS HEART? WHY HE BECAME ASSHOLE IN THE FIRST PLACE??
and oh btw. it happens in the cliché scene again.
where they wait for him at the plane runaway. and oh nooooo he is not gonna come :(.
SURPRISE. he is already there!!!.
Bryce Dallas was told to look pretty and act pretty. that’s pretty much it. and she is all "dinosaurs must be free" now.... because...... I don’t know... movie... again. what happened? what changed her mind??. is it because franchise kicked off and we must root for these people now.
why break them up????? why do we get to see their intro all over again. because hey the next time they fall asleep. girl's hand will be all inside Chris Pratt’s shirt. (IT HAPPENS!!!)
is this even a sequel? it feels like a reboot of a reboot. this person was trying to commercialize dinosaurs and was pretty much a huge jerk aunt to those kids (who were so annoying and thus I’m glad they are not here btw)
the "villain" is this guy, who knows Claire from before and he explains to her why they must save the dinosaurs into this new place (oh please, we know you’ll be the bad guy, we have read book of cliché’s too movie)
he ultimately brings the dinosaurs for an auction back to the city.... without anyone realizing anything.... man these guys could run the country if they're so powerful and covert
there are 2 stereotypical nerds. with franklin written so bad that I wanted him dead asap. overacting AF. seriously. if u tell me u like him you are just a casual moviegoer or a troll. I can’t describe him more without the need of punching something.
there is a scene exchange between him and the leader of the capture team. where just within 2 seconds he is taunted "Can u open this door tiger" something like that. and the door like practically immediately opens. and this nerd is like. "there u go, tiger". yeah nice comeback
minutes later they are locked in and this guy acts like he knows nothing now. he keeps being a weirdo and and changes his motivation within seconds of a scene just for weird humor.
horribly inconsistent characters.
during the first encounter with Owen’s friend dino raptor blue. (who also was not a reason enough to come join this mission for Owen, "let them die" he said)
the capture team people go bad. (because cliché) and they shoot blue and Owen. fine.... but now the nerd girl who was 2 minutes ago showing off to this team as a badass girl because "girl power" I guess? is now taking a gun and pointing at the.... ok ... for what.. will u really shoot them? they did not really kill Owen or the dino. how badass are you u want to show??
and they all ready to shoot her too. but due to some illogical argument which I really don’t want to get into. this "Mexican standoff" stops but the guys shrug her off.
there is this little girl's character who is shown to be a complete Mary sue at first. she can go anywhere to listen in on conversations way too smart for her age. she is not afraid. she is a daredevil , not afraid of heights at all. u know what. I’m all cool for powerful child characters if the movie is ABOUT THEM!!. this was really awkward. the worst part like I said how character arcs go haywire. as soon as she encounters her first dinosaur. she is screaming at the top of her voice. and then continuing to do that till the movie ends.
hey u know what, don’t show me a dinosaur loving young girl afraid of nothing at all at first and then since she is a girl, she has to scream unbearably loudly every time something is happening and then keep hugging chris pratt for no reason. instead of probably claire which would make more sense. stick to your character traits maybe...
cliché moments and cliché characters. yes, I am using the word cliché a lot. but that’s what I was rubbed with in my face in few hours ago.
there is an auction going on where they present the dinosaur in the huge case which I am sure pretty much hides all the bidder to the auctioneer. but movie!!!
lot of moments of story did not make sense. and I don’t want to spend more time for them.
the cinematic moments like the dinosaur roars and everything were same old same old. so, it’s a dino fatigue at this point. nothing new and fresh for it. I was seeing in this Imax and wanted to be blown away and scared probably. but it did not happen. it’s really like they are catering to a fresh new audience rather than people who see and remember movies, like the first parts!!!!
The set pieces although feel fantastic at first end up being anti-climactic. The whole third act takes place in that huge manor where the auction takes place. After which there are teases for the sequel. Why does every movie want to be a franchise so badly? First be good and people will throw themselves over your movies and wait day by day for sequel. Me included. But this shove in your face teases after your average movie makes me want to punch someone!! “The dinosaurs are free in this world now. So get ready for awesomeness you wanted in this movie, in the next part!!!” Yeahhh!! F***!!!!!!!
Jeff Goldblum was shown in trailers. and thats exactly how long he will stay in the movie, couple of minutes. why show him in your trailer and ruin a cool surprise which could have saved this movie otherwise marred by cliche's and average writing.?? and if you show him like that. maybe use him much more in the plot......
I really enjoy movies and am more than happy to suspend my disbelief as much as possible. but it was not possible here. so, I’m not thrashing on this movie for no reason. it really was bad.
that being said. few positives here are:
the special effects are spot on. couldn’t really complain here. it’s sad how much potential can be wasted.
also, I have nothing really against the actors. I am sure most of them were doing their best and are talented. the writing and the direction lead to this mess.
the sound and music were decent.
if you are a casual audience this movie is perfect. you will NOT be disappointed. but if you are an avid moviegoer. tired of tropes and repetitions and also somewhat of critic. get ready for a lawsuit because you would have punched someone sitting on your side or front.
definitely won’t be watching this again even if I have time and money to kill. not even years later on streaming I think
enjoy!

There are a ton of eye rolling moments and some really dumb decisions, especially the ending, but I had some fun. This really is a movie made for the causal fan that like big summer popcorn movies. Almost all of the human characters are clichés. They do dumb things that makes me want the dinosaurs to eat them. The dinos look great and they have some cool action. I am really tired of the whole morality of if we should let the dinos die or not. The ending really pissed me off, maybe that will set up a better sequel but I'm not counting on it though. On a positive note I thought there were some really fantastic cinematic shots. Also the use of certain lighting made for some ok horror. Watch this on the big screen and don't expect much more than some dumb action and you will be ok.
Well that was a pile of garbage. Cliché cast, good special effects, dialog was extremely bad and that's about all there is to say about this..
It looks all right. Which in todays movie landscape translates to just throw enough money at it. But that is also where it stops. Those movies are adding nothing new. The key scenes are always there. They are just checking off all the necessary boxes while the stories become more and more silly.
It has some entertainment value but while I have seen the first Jurassic Park multiple times I don't feel the urge to watch this again.
So far every Jurassic film has on some level entertained me. None may be as perfect as the original but they all entertain me. Maybe it is because I just love dinosaurs since I was little and I'm easily entertained when some good looking Dinosaurs show up in fun action. Well Maybe? I know that is the a main reason. Throw Chris Pratt in there with them and it can entertain me for a solid 2 hours.
Goooo Bluey!
A mediocre adventure film, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom delivers some exciting action but is a little lacking on story. When a volcano erupts on Isla Nublar Claire Dearing teams up with a wealthy industrialist to help evacuate the dinosaurs to a preserve, but when they get to the island she’s double crossed. Despite having a strong cast that includes James Cromwell, Toby Jones, and Ted Levine, most of them are wasted; except Levine, who proves to be a good villain. Yet the writing is rather poor, as the plot is forced and doesn’t make a lot of sense. Also, it teases mysteries that don’t really pay off. Still, the special effects are incredibly good, and make for some amazing dinosaur scenes. And the score does an extraordinary job at capturing the dark and tragic tone of the film. While it has its problems, in the end Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is entertaining and full of thrills.
Brain hurt. Me no likey. Err...umm...ahem.
This is a movie that really stretches it as far as believability, logic, or even physics.
First, just a quick note: The trailer makes it seem like the movie spends its time on an island about to blow up. Less than half the movie is that. So, if you're looking for a long drawn out volcanic eruption, look elsewhere.
The heroes are annoying and dumb caricatures, from the techie who's afraid of everything to the wisecracking animal wrangler (in fairness, this is Chris Pratt's character from the previous film, but still). The villains are short-sighted, moustache-twirling dolts who never seem to remember to watch behind them, especially in dangerous scenarios. And why was Jeff Goldblum even in this movie? He serves no purpose to the story. None at all. He's there for them to say, "See! We have someone from the older movies, so it ties together." That's literally all he's there to do for his two minutes of screen time.
It's the same plot as every other Jurassic Park/World film. Let's create/genetically engineer dinosaurs. What could possibly go wrong? Even the supposed "plot twist" could be figured out from the very beginning of the film. Basic physics don't even apply, such as the impossible truck jump at one point. I swear I could feel my brain leaking out of my ears while watching this.
This film honestly makes me somewhat relieved that Colin Trevorrow got removed from Star Wars Episode IX. Unfortunately, the way this movie ends basically guarantees that there's going to be another one. Although it begs the question about what happened to Jurassic Park III since it ends in a similar way. Is that film even supposed to be canon anymore?
Just don't bother. Even if you love the dinosaur special effects of previous films, there's really not much here that you didn't see before, and some of it is actually pretty bad and unbelievable for a film from 2018. Just don't bother.
Wow! I was sure that they would have learned their mistakes from the first, children, but no. It was even worse. Incredible!
Okay, now that was awesome.
Serious, once again we get scammed. The dinosaurs that walk on the roof or on the floor of the houses without it collapses, what logic in the basic rules of physics. And in addition it opens the doors without breaking the handle what an intelligence, Deep Blue you can go get dressed. After you put your brain on OFF and you have a good time but fed up we are mistaken for mentally deficient.
The Five Faces of JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM
Chris Pratt and *Bryce Dallas Howard" are the best things the sequel trilogy has to offer and they also prove to be one of the best things the franchise has delivered so far. They are equally impressive here as in Jurassic World, and so we'll developed, they feel like real people by now.
The sequel to the 2015 smash hit feels bigger and bolder, like a sequel should do, while also being satisfyingly dark and mature. It also takes the franchise into uncharted territory, giving it a breath of fresh air.
The film comments on contemporary social issues in a smart and not too conspicuous way. The script fits these issues into the plot in a natural way.
In a clever move, the script treats humans as the biggest threat and villain of the film, while dinosaurs are depicted as intelligent, useful and emotional creatures.
Calling this a Jurassic film is almost too much, as most of the film is set on the mainland, rather than on a tropical island. While that brings a nice breath of fresh air to the series, it also kills one of the core elements of the franchise.
From a Dante's Peak ripoff in the first act, the movie goes on to copying the newer Planet of the Apes films throughout the rest of the film.
In many ways, Fallen Kingdom parallels The Lost World, in a way that Jurassic World parallels the first film; while that's a good thing from the viewpoint of nostalgia, it also proves that the series is running out of ideas.
By now it's not very impressive to see any of these giant lizard monsters, particularly when the same species appear in every movie.

The Final Face:
Dinosaurs in the 21st century are rare, also finding a film that I genuinely dislike so much that it makes me angry is equally as rare. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is just a film. I felt like I’d lost some IQ points after the final credits had rolled up.
Let’s break it down though.
The acting, everyone in this are not on their game. Bryce Dallas Howard, who I admit am I biased against, is bland and unconvincing, Chris Pratt, so much a great screen presence, has clearly sent a clone of himself, there’s no chemistry between our leads, no charisma from a very charismatic actor and the action sequences do not suit him and border on funny.
Rafe Spall is a fine actor and has proved he can turn his hand to any type of role. In Fallen World his role is Scooby Doo baddy, it is a subtle and poorly written as that. He is rich and wants to be wealthier so obviously he is evil, and he has to do it illegally. To be fair to Mr. Spall the house he bought from this role was definitely worth it.
Toby Jones is one of my favourite actors, like Rafe Spall he is a fine British thespian who can make at the minimum a reasonable fist of any role thrown at him in any drama and turn out great performance regardless of the material. Here he is a Bargain Hunt auctioneer but selling dinosaurs to stereotype snarling, comic-book bad guys. Why oh why is he wearing Dick Emery’s vicar’s teeth?
None of the last two paragraphs makes me happy, both Spall and Jones have given me every impression of being down-to-earth honest and friendly types so slagging off a film they are in and question their motivations for making it does not sit well with me. It would be interesting to see what they say about this film after some distance is put between them and it – at least they will never be in any sequels.
The supporting, grand-children, younger people, roles are filled by two relative unknowns Daniella Pineda and Justice Smith are neither relatable, funny or have any real purpose in the story. It is noticeable that they disappear for a long part of the film only to return at the end. It feels as if both were thrown in at the deep end and were not ready for this type of film or role. That only leaves Isabella Sermon to scream, run up and down corridors and spy on the adults plotting like something out of the Famous Five.
But despite all of the above the biggest annoyance for me is the terrible, awful, story. I am fully aware of the ‘it’s entertaining defence’ and this works if the film is made for eight-year-olds but presumably the story, and definitely the source-novel and original film, were also aimed at the older viewer too?
I’m insulted by this film. Insulted by it.
Firstly the whole driving point – dinosaurs as weapons for despots? Just buy tanks and planes like everyone does, they can be bought legally and would surely be easier to maintain and that driving force for science-fiction/fantasy story is so old that the grey whiskers it has have grey whiskers. Getting all gooey eyed over $10m for ankylosaurus, which as an herbivore would probably not be that aggressive but $10 that buys you a good League One footballer in this day and age.
The story eats itself with all these logical dead ends. Even within the world of the movie and implausibility of the situation, with all disbelief suspended, this still stretched credibility until it breaks. Not only that it further insults fans of the original by rehashing so many set-ups and stunts from the first movie that you can predict everything coming. Stealth Tyrannosaur anyone? Velociraptor that is more intelligent than most of the humans? Great White Hunter who is nasty and gets his from a big old dinosaur? A cardboard cut-out baddie who avoids everything that happens and seems to have got away but…. doesn’t? Check the tick list, they are all there and these are not plot spoilers because you’ve seen these scenes at least twice before in dinosaur-related mayhem films.
The whole debacle seems to have been written and directed by an 8-year old Scooby Doo and monsters’ fan who has had way too much sugar and should sit down and have a nap.
The CGI is good.
The ending is beyond preposterous and just sets up a dire sequel to this farcical film and one can only imagine how much spinning Michael Crichton is doing.
That final shot of the lion and tyrannosaur is as annoying as it is baffling. I can just imagine the makers saying ‘It’ll be sooooo cool bro’ in the meeting. It is not.
Here’s hoping the next Jurassic World story goes down the root of the Phantom Menace. A full two hours of the legal ramifications of what happened in the last two films. Firstly Claire Dearing was front and centre and directly and indirectly responsible for hundreds of innocent deaths and also in charge of a minor who realised hundreds of dinosaurs in the USA, some of which are ferocious carnivores so she’s probably going to be in prison for the rest of her life and Owen as a willing accomplish will be probably not far behind.
Oh, I give up, this film is tripe
Great addition to the franchise.
After watching a second time I still give this a 6...storyline is crap,I'm sorry you can't run on ur feet away from a P/Cloud, from a volcano,it's like going at hundreds if not thousands of klms...so so unrealistic, they would all have Died...!let's hope they write a better story with the next movie and put the dinosaurs back in a new park with visitors and bring back more main role of children in the movie as U noticed in this horrible Jurassic world movie!!!!
Went to see this today at the cinema
This is the first Jurassic Park movie where I give it a 6 all the other movies rated a 10,but this attempt seems to fall flat, they should of never took it away from the park, now it's destroyed, when they make the next movie let's hope they build another park as this actually makes the movie as well as good acting, storyline, special effects..
Jeff Goldblum should have had a larger role in the movie as he helps Jurassic Park work, his humour and his presence in the movie's helped immensely...will be waiting on the next movie,as the first Jurassic world movie was amazing but this one focused too much on new faces like the nerd and the vet/lesbian....
This movie was such dumb fun. I scoffed, I shook my head, believe me I get all complaints against this thing but just accept it. As soon as I did the movie was a blast. I'm still laughing.
not an awful movie, but still not as good as the first. hardly any of the movie actually takes place on the island despite the fact that all the trailers highlight it as the main focus of the movie, and there is hardly any dinosaur action even though thats the main reason anyone goes to watch these movies. the movie concentrates on the human characters more than the dinosaurs and Jeff Goldblum has what amounts to nothing more than a cameo, which is a shame as his presence could have saved this movie
Alot better than the first Jurassic World, but alot worse at the same time. The plot is awful. The visuals are amazing. The scenes are tense and thrilling, but the dialogue is terrible. The characters are boring, and not even the incredibly produced dinosaurs could save them, ironicly. Horror was teased afew times, but not enough. The pacing feels fine for a 2 hour movie. It was enjoyable in parts, but I doubt I'll rewatch this for a long while.
I went into watching this with extremely low expectations. I realized when getting ready to watch Dominion, that I never even bothered to watch Fallen Kingdom. So...... I watched it and actually... it lived up to the expectations ;) So I decided to give it a 7 out of 10, as it was exactly what I expected. No its not a great movie. It's far from original. The typical computernerd needed to do some random computer magic by typing sudo and some statement on a terminal was of course present. Not sure if it was lack of inspiration or a wink to the earlier movies that they had to "reboot the system" (which was back then done by that blond girl, now it had to be a colored boy obviously, because, well, woke.)
The wokeness scale was not too crazy. Of course all the bad persons are all white men, because, well, woke. I did not detect any gay/trans promotion this time.
Some scenes from previous movies were kind of recycled - and that was a good thing! There was the connection to the previous movies in a proper way. Like the big open gras area where the dinos are running in the field - now the same but just.... well insert spoiler here. The big bad evil hunter was a bit too obvious for my taste. That was more lack of inspiration then a nod to the earlier movies.
Chris Pratt is mostly carrying the movie, along with Bryce Howard. I was not a big fan of the whol Eli Mills role/person/actor.
Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard deliver yet another great performance.
A dinosaur movie will hardly be boring but this is getting more and more ridiculous, they are destroying what Jurassic Park was
Not bad but something feels familiar, kinda getting old and predictable.
I was disappointed. The girl is hot. The first scene where Owen controls blue was the only genuinely cool moment and it was ruined by the cliche bad white guy shooting too soon. It killed the moment in the wrong way.
did this man really just say "Welcome to Jurassic World" in a court case
Only monsterverse fans will like this
After my second watch (first since 2019), and watching all five movies in a marathon…this was better than I remembered! It had great action throughout, nice visuals, good pacing. Is it way different than the ORIGINAL Jurassic Park in 1992? Yes. But this is everything a summer blockbuster should be in 2018. I don’t think it’s as good as the original movie, or the first in the new reboot trilogy, but this and The Lost World is a toss up for totally different reasons for 3rd/4th best. And now I am fully prepped and excited to see the new movie tomorrow!
Rating: 3.5/5 - 8/10 - Would Recommend
Absolutely mediocre storytelling and bland characterization make this one a lite adventure thriller that kids and young teens especially might find easy to follow and to appreciate its admittedly good special effects.
"God creates dinosaurs. God destroys dinosaurs. God creates man. Man destroys God. Man creates dinosaurs."
Universal kills Jurassic Park.
Well made thriller with dark undertones.
Really bad movie, the worst of the franchise by far.
This Movie Made A Billion at the box office.. But it was super trash
There is ridiculous moments and kind of weird story line, but if you are not looking for deep and philosophical movie, that's fine. It was entertaining.
Also I liked that shooting and bloody scenes were minimal, I don't like that kind of stuff.
I liked this movie better than its predecessors, although I am still very unsatisfied about the depiction of the dinosaurs: Archeopteryx and theropods (T-Rex and velociraptors, e.g. the important main velociraptor Blue) were feathered. Not so in Jurassic World. No explanation is given why this is so. I'm pretty sure it is simply a mistake. As to archeopteryx: it could not fly as well as shown in the film. Most probably it could just glide from tree to tree. And it had feathers, of course!
is it just me or was this like watching Resident evil just with dinosaurers.
nothing can beat the first 3 movies!
a lot of show and little sense becomes noise
Can't believe they've made me give a Jurassic movie on a "7-Good" score (and this is also only because I fell in love with dinosaurs since the first movie, when I was 4 y.o.
The Bad:
- They really spoiled the best scenes of the movies with showing them in the trailer.
- Freakin' Jeff Goldblum is in the movie about the same amount of time as the T-Rex, which unfortunately it's almost nothing (and not with the T-Rex.
- Someone's hears a bang and surprise-surprise, everybody runs, slows down, looks up and it's a Giant dinosaur for their first time cliché (just because I get tingeling doesn't mean you can do this in each movie. We already knows whats about to happen.
-They gave all the Dinos baby face (except for the "evil" one, cause we should want him to die). Damn, If I love dinosaurs I don't care if they're cute or not.
- Knives can do anything.
- There are carnivore dinosaurs in the movie, but unless it's not a surgery or infusion don't expect any blood.
I am literally want to cry\shout as I'm writing this.
- The awesome Mosasaur from the last movie - hands down the best newcomer to the franchise - is seen as a mere silhouette in the movie. Even worse, she suffers from "the amazing spider man 2 - cool shot between Spidy and Rhino that was cut just about awesomeness about to come and gave high hopes from the trailer just to be the EXACT same cut scene in the movie" F@ck up. Yes surfer about to be eaten, I am talking about your scene.
- The Carnotaurus is getting bullied all the time by the T-Rex.
- Because she's able to show empathy (only when Chris Pratt' Owen is around) Blue also has super powers. The doc noted that she have a lot of muscle tissue in her leg (which I assume is because she's probably squats a lot, and not because she's a dinosaur).
- Implying weaponized dinos with calling the Ankylosaurus "a living tank".
- Someone thought that calling the Indo-Raptor tactical is cool. And if it's not enough the paint it 'tactical black' with spec ops yellow eyes and stripes. And I think she smiled when she fooled one of the bad guys.
- All the bad new dinos looks like Randall from Monsters Inc.
- A 1-2 ton tactical dinosaur can do muscle ups.
- They almost let the remaining dinosaurs die in a chamber full of gas. That's right, what an analogy... and a little girl rescued them. A simple change in the sequence, like first opening the doors making the gases swoosh out and only then release the dinos might have worked.
- The little girl is a clone like the dinos too, So, yeah.
- Reusing the 'T-Rex ex machina CGI shot' from every Jurassic movie, which is still cool, but common.
- Steven Spielberg somehow gave the movie it's blessing.
The Good: (unfortunatly I can't even spoil it, cause it was already in the trailer)
- Freakin' Jeff Goldblum is in the movie about the same amount of time as the T-Rex.
- Someone's hears a bang, everybody runs, slows down, looks up and it's a Giant dinosaur for their first time cliché
- There are carnivore dinosaurs in the movie.
- The Carnotaurus is looking AWESOME, with his crimson short horned face. (in it's 2 short scenes)
- Escape from Isla Nublar scene (and its end with the Brachiosaurus like dino crying. Onions everywhere)
- Blue is a clever girl.
- Yay! Pachycephalosaurus is back. (the hand banging dinosaur, even though she's made too cute for me)
- Implying weaponized dinos (Jurassic World IV - Space Dinos?)
- Passively flying bad rich people.
- T-Rex has a roaring contest with Simba.
- The Hangover - Pterodactyls.
- Great sounds and its visualizations in the dinos making them.
- John Williams' score.
Wishlist for the next one
- R raing.
- T-Rex vs. Triceratops.
- Someone gets dino crushed by mistake.
- The OG dinosaurs are already cool, we don't need new ones.
- Blue gorws feathers.
- Jeff Goldblum's Ian Malcolm says "Life HAD found a way".
- Ian Malcolm talking how this things are exactly what chaos theory is and then Pytr Baelish shows up with Bran and saying "chaos is a ladder". Then Jon Snow and Dany fly into the scene with Indo -Drogon. Roll Credits: Jurassic Thrones - Fal of the Seven Kingdoms
bryce dallas bla bla is annoying, bad actress, and just boring. everywhere :)
kinda stupid movie isn't it?
A fine addition to the franchise. Good fun and I find Chris Pratt likeable.
In no way is it the disaster that most claim it is. Sure it's got some ridiculous parts, but which entry in this franchise doesn't? It's not as thrilling as some of the previous ones in the action department, but it makes up for that with some interesting suspense sequences. Overall, sure it's not the best Jurassic movie, but it's fun, and it has a damn good ending!
They tried to restore the classic Jurassic Park but we don't have enough classic to pull it through too much of everything else
Feels like a mix-up of all previous movies.
Nice effects, of course, but I already forgot the plot
Movie logic: A volcano erupted!! that means the Island is going to explode!!!
In reality the island just expands. Totally stupid.
Not as thrilling as the first two but I still enjoyed it.
Really predictable and really bad acting
On par with 2015 version, fun popcorn movie with so many cliches, but still entertaining. But to be fair, I would watch any movie with Bryce, even documentary about brick laying or mowing lawns.
I think the next Jurassic park movie will be more interesting and challenging specially in the part of the creation of the story merely known as Writers. A good movie will become a great movie when the writing is good.. Of course plus the amazing acting of the actors and good direction of directors.
Some cool moments and images. Bryce Dallas Howard redeems herself a bit as the heroine in this film. But unfortunately for every good moment there are about ten face-palmingly stupid bits. And it is surprisingly dull and laggy in the middle for a film about dinosaurs.
There's no room for saving living enviroment, ecology etc., money as always rule the world... well with some dino renegades of course. ;)
Formulaic and predictable. Fun but not great.
I thought this was well better than the first, loved that it was more darker, more humour, more action and the effects were great.
I noticed like the first movie with the similar bits from the first three movies instead of trying something new.
It’s a shame that theses new films will never feel like the first three of the franchise.
I wasn’t big on where it left you and where It’s going but still I’m Interested,
also, as always, I noticed a few scenes in the trailer missing that were worth being in the film.
Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver.... where were you? Why did you abandon Isla Nublar?
After leaving the cinema I was not sure how to rate this movie. I watched it in 4DX so I think the 4D special effects made the movie better than it actually is.
The story was fine and a bit better than the first Jurassic World but I'm not fully hooked. I especially hated the ending where again the actions of a little child open up the possibilities for another instalment of the franchise. The girl's acting was kind of weird at times – or maybe it's just the character. I watched the original Jurassic Park movies a bit too long ago so I didn't get all the references to the original story and especially characters.
Typical entry in the series but, let’s be honest, nobody watched it for the plot. The dinosaurs are awesome!!!!
The main issue I had was with the ending. Why did Maisie do that? Does she not think things through?! At least now the title “Jurassic World” makes sense.
I hope that they are less predictable in the next film. It seems as though they are making mirror copies of Jurassic Park. The first was about the park and was full of awe and wonder. The second is extremely political and ethical.
I still enjoyed it.
They say that if you see the second trailer, the movie smashes you, I had not seen it. I liked it, it has told new things and they look good. Although such a large house has little staff. As in Volcano they are next to the lava and they do not even turn red
If there's another one, might as well have Owen and Claire have their own mystery machine and solve mysteries with Blue. Since you know they ran out of ideas when they introduced a volcano. Which makes whoever put Jurassic World on an island with a volcano, an idiot. Jerks wanting to take the dinosaurs off the island and make money off them. We saw in Lost World already as well.
While in the 2nd half things slow down so much., that I almost lost interest until things picked up again. The film is a decent creature feature but I'm just not sure where it ranks with the others. Part 3 might have even had a stronger plot.

I go to these films to see a lot of dinosaurs fighting and eating people but there was precious little of that in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which very mistakenly thought I was interested in storyline and twists so obvious they hurt my stomach. Not to mention all the WTF littering the movie: You know you're in trouble when de-extinct dinosaurs are the most credible aspect of the film.
Fallen Kingdom is a cut and paste copy of the original as concerns structure, but it really loses something in translation.
I left the cinema with the distinct impression this was nothing but filler while waiting on the next installment. Ironically, after this one, there may not be a next installment.
