Araragi's perversion caused some eye-rolling moments, but apart from that, Kizumonogatari finishes very strongly. With that, I mean the ending itself - It's both bittersweet and cruel. Araragi basically turned Shinobu into a zombie who can't even talk, but on the other hand, it's a solution where both of them can co-exist. The reveal that Shinobu wanted to die all along is interesting as well in the sense that it recontextualizes a lot of her previous actions, and maybe also shows the bias from Araragi as a narrator - Not sure if that is an angle the series will pursue more, though. The fight between Shinobu and Araragi was also nothing sort but spectacular, especially Kou Yoshinari and his unique linework was amazing to witness. Now that both Shinobu's and Araragi's scars are revealed, I'm excited for what's to come. Especially given the fact that Araragi denied her death, I'm wondering how their dynamic will play out if she gets the opportunity to talk again and have agency sometime in the future.
One last thing to note is that it does feel like a serious amount of LN content is cut here, I didn't mind much as an anime-only but for instance, Guillotinecutter's part felt very short.
Aside from the super weird soft porn scene at the end... It was awesome.
Not sure how nobody is happy though. Aragi has best of both worlds. He's immortal but immune to the sun.
