Films of the french new wave (la nouvelle vague) and by its directors.
A list of movies I've watched that are set in some Middle Eastern country.
Note: some of these movies are in fictional or unknown countries.
I also tried to avoid most "generic" movies, for example, anything related to war.
Todo el mejor cine de la historia
Surrealist movies or movies with at least a few elements of surrealism. I tried to not be too broad, because a lot of movies nowadays incorpore a little bit of surrealism.
Movies I need to see
My ranking of Alain Robbe-Grillet movies.
Movies I've watched that aren't neither in english nor portuguese (my native language).
A cinematic history mixed with contemporary art.
Cinema is full of neurotic personalities, but few things are more transfixing than a woman losing her mind onscreen. Horror as a genre provides the most welcoming platform for these histrionics: crippling paranoia, desperate loneliness, masochistic death-wishes, dangerous obsessiveness, apocalyptic hysteria. Unlike her male counterpart - ‘the eccentric’ - the female neurotic lives a shamed existence, making these films those rare places where her destructive emotions get to play.
