it was a rather good action flick. they managed to nail Lara's look, scenography and fighting scenes were taken out of the classic games. so visually it was perfect. the plot would fit the game much more than a movie, for a movie there's not enough depth.
OMG this movie is so OVERATED!
This and the sequel is one of my biggest guilty pleasures.
Not because the story is all that good...
Not because it's even remotely following what a Tomb Raider story should be...
BUT...
Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft is absolutely magnificent. She's so damn sexy in this one that it blew my mind the first time I watched it.
Does that make me shallow???
Maybe...but see if I care...
It is not perfect I know that, but this is the first real Tomb Raider movie... so I like it so much ♥

Lara practices tomb raiding by fighting robots in her mansion ? Yeah, the movie would have been better if it didn't have goofy aspects like that. Not sure what's so hard about just making Indiana Jones but with an ass kicking female.
Hopefully the reboot gets it right.
Always loved this movie! Angelina Jolie is brilliant as Lara Croft and the movie got everything I expect from Tomb Raider. The action, adventure, mystery and awesomeness...it's there.

I love Lara Croft but I can't tell what's worse: this or Primal
The early 2000's just did these over-the-top, Matrix-esque action movies on a different level. This is by no means a great movie, but it is a globetrotting, bombastic action romp that easily enjoyable if you switch your brain off and just enjoy it for what it is. Let the gritty 2000's edge wash over you and enjoy the ride.

The only thing I had seen from this movie was the music video for U2's Elevation and now that I have finally seen this I can confidently say that the music video was enough. Angelina was in top shape for this and I can tell she had fun with it, but it still felt like a made-for-tv film. People might be a little too generous with this one.
I love this movie. It's not a great piece of cinema but it is fun and dumb action based on the classic game franchise. The movie nails the aesthetic of the tomb raider world in its set and character design. Some familiar and accomplished faces appear, and they do as well as expected with what is fundamentally a shallow plot and flimsy dialogue. I have a particular fondness for the casting of Angelina Jolie's IRL dad to be Lord Croft. So let your hair down, make your self comfortable and enjoy a light-hearted adventure romp in the grand tradition of Indiana Jones.
We see to compare it, here it's more voluptuous, it's not a wonder, but it entertains, maybe I like the new version more
