If you arent into the horror genre then its not for you. This is a genuinely creepy movie. I didnt find it predictable at all, it was a fresh idea executed well. You cant say much without spoiling it.
Not very convincing...I found some sequences a bit sillly even and the jump scares got old quickly.. Didn't see the twist coming, but couldn't save from being a mediocre film...
"If crazy is being devoted to something you love, then i'm as crazy as a slimy snail in a tin can."
Strange noises, weird phone calls, spooky apparitions and an exagerated amount of objects moving around constantly. Last Shift is all about the mystery of what's behind these strange phenomenons. It was a gripping mystery for the first half but it gets redundant and loses steam in the second half. Especially with the phone call, scare, phone call, scare, phone call, scare... the whole movie is pretty much that on repetition. Juliana Harkavy was very believable in the lead role and I like her character. Although there's absolutely no logical explanation as to why she doesn't just leave the building. Lots of other nonsensical stuff. Done in a single location, claustrophobic, atmospheric and I was surprised a few times by clever twists. Nice creepy look for the entity(s) but never really a decent scare.
Has a few good ideas, but poorly executed. The dumbest protagonist in the history of horror. Whimsical at times, nonsensical overall.
Very creepy. I enjoyed this one a lot. And a bonus that the beautiful Juliana Harkavy stars
If we are liberal with definitions, I would say Last Shift is one of the best haunted house horror movies ever made despite not taking place in a house. In a genre spoken in a language of cliches and predictable plot templates, this flick stands out for being almost a character study for how focused it is on the main character. Because of this (and Juliana Harkavy's excellent acting), the pace is excellent and we feel Loren's isolation. Unfortunately, the creative engine seems to have stalled towards the end and I feel unsatisfied every time I watch it. Regardless, it's solid and I wish there were lots more movies like this.
I wasn't expecting much from this but it actually surpassed my expectations. It's no classic of the genre but it's spooky enough if you're looking for mild scares.
Hey...when you seen most of the great horror movies..its ok to watch a good horror flick... it was fun and free
Like a sharpened lead blade this was solid, cheap and not at all dull.
This low budget haunted police station flick succeed in being creepy thanks to its non-stop action, strong lead and excellent sound-scaping.
don't get all the bad review... it's solid horror, I watch again everytime a friend want's to see a good horror film and everyone loves it ...And I check for similar movies and a second maybe ? Or at least new movie with the same writer /director. yeah, I'm doing it for five years. Check this movie out, it's awesome and I highly recommend
Anthony Diblasi's Last Shift creeped me out more than I anticipated. It starts out slow, you settle your feet, trying to understand what is happening. Slowly pieces are starting to fall together and the tension rises. You are waiting for jump-scares but Diblasi doesn't use them a lot, a few times but not to the level of annoyance. When the story unfolds and you learn about her dad you will be thinking to yourself, why is she working there, ONE YEAR, after what happened to her dad?
Anyway, you continue and are kinda in awe about how great Juliana Harkavy is in this and that luckily for you, she is in every scene. The creepiness level rises, along the way they remind you that a HAZMAT team is coming in later that night. She learns more about the phone calls she's receiving, you have figured it out already, but you keep watching because the tension is still there.
The crazy images go up to eleven and you feel the climax is coming and the ending you are anticipating will be there. The film is over and you are glad, you can relax and know that you want to see horror movies these days will be more about atmosphere and tension instead of loads and loads of cheap jump-scares. Jump-scares are fun, but not around every corner.
I hope this makes scenes, but if you want to know if I enjoyed Last Shift, I did! If you like horror, I can certainly recommend this one!
Loved the scares, but the plot and the story are empty, so there's really nothing to follow.
Nothing me here so to speak; the usual scare tactics, but I still thought it was pretty good. If you're not expecting some award winning movie, and just looking for a pretty good mind-fk, you'll probably enjoy it.
Plus, the lead actress is gooooorgeous.
It is not ok it is waste of time
Is this a ok movie or is it a waste of time? :)

While it starts out sort of alright the story takes the easy and generic route leading to a foreseeable ending that isn't satisfactory.
