One of my favourite musicals, such a feel good movie. Love Abba anyway and know all the words to their songs!
I love ABBA. I’m a hardcore fan who actually listened to these songs on the radio when they were new. That being said, this was the worst movie I have ever seen. And I don’t mean that as an exaggeration.
Mostly a very fun movie to watch and the ABBA songs were very catchy of course. Don't watch it if you want a great plot because it's kinda over the top but a lot of fun.
Rewatching to get ready for the opening day of MAMMA MIA HERE WE GO AGAIN. Over the top, slapstick humour. Great music (the girls can sing). Amanda Seyfried is adorable. Great ensemble numbers. Just a little too surreal for me, so it's only a 6 (fair) out of 10. Loved the music, though. Looking forward to Lily James. [Musical Comedy]

PURE FUN!!! Great music , great photography, the cast seems to be having a ball , who cares if the story sucks , just sit back take it for what it is and have fun

Colin Firth is the only good thing about this cringefest. So, so, so, soooooo terrible in all aspects of film making.
Some of the songs are fun but this is not a very good movie.
I give 1 to the cheesy movie and 10 for the great music = 5

I hated this film the first time I saw it. I was a 15 year old, joy-hating teenager and hated any kind of cheesiness and singing, especially when sitting next to my mother unable to escape.
This time round, I feel more grown-up and capable of leaving that cynical teenager behind. But by God was it difficult.
I enjoy the general premise of the film but the style of it all, nah. What grates most is the over-acting, as if they just filmed the stageshow. It was cringing and the fact they seemed to ADR all the dialogue just jarred me.
Don't get me wrong, it's fun but it certainly isn't a good film.
I know it is not good, but I have seen it so many times that I like it, hahaha. It is to enjoy it, not to criticize it.
Funny how I used to watch this together with my parents when I was young. I actually didn't appreciate this musical at the time, but my mother used to love it. I decided to rewatch it today since I kinda missed her and surprisingly, I kinda liked it now and I even sang along to all the ABBA songs.

"HERE WE GO AGAIN".
It is a great entertaining film that doesn’t work. It is sheer fun to watch this movie if you don’t care for the flimsy script (that works on stage but cannot work on film) and just embrace the cast ensemble, the songs are pulling you into a spiral, you can’t escape. You say Brosnan can’t sing ? I say none of them can sing (except Baranski), but who cares ? It is the genius of ABBA that saves it all.
Total chick flick and the only good things in it are ABBA's hit songs IMHO!
