Max Cloud 2020

When I start to watch a film, regardless of how poor, I watch it to the end. 30 minutes in and I had to turn if off!

I’m not sure of the target audience; certainly not adults. I’ve had children 11 years apart and I’ve watched more than my share of kids tv and enjoyed a lot of it, but I can’t see it fitting in to this category either.

The basic concept isn’t awful, it’s the delivery. I’m not sure how or why it was aired.

If you’d not guessed, it’s a humongous no from me

So cheesy, so stupid, so poorly written. It this exactly like so many video games of the era. It's wonderful.

Cowboy is an annoying character, though. There is no redeeming value in his character. Stuffing his face with raw hotdogs and acting like a dweeb and really just being stupid. They could have easily written the character out.

It should have been animated. Now it is just like low budget Jumanji [reboot] ripoff.

+some good music
+few good cgi exteriors/space
+videogame parts looks good

-other parts looks too low budget

I really love the retro movie/ game concept, but the movie is not very interesting beyond the initial concept.

The screenplay could have easily been written by your average teenager, and the acting is wooden.

This is like the new Jumanji movies, but worse. And in space.

The only good thing this has going for it is the fact that the music seamlessly switches between the score and its video game music counterpart. Most of the effects are pretty bad, and so is a lot of the acting, dialogue, and fight scenes. But worst of all is the writing.

This movie doesn't follow any rules within the world because there are no rules in this world. Anyone, at any point, could show off a brand new weapon or display a new power because the story needs to move forward. The "story" is confusing and feels the need to dump exposition on you every 20 minutes (some of it absolutely worthless). And the "twist"... oh, the twist raises more questions that never get answered. It forgets to develop things teased early on, layering confusion upon previous confusion.

If I hadn't been watching this with my brother, I would have shut it off within the first five minutes. Unless you're planning on watching this with friends to absolutely dunk on it, don't bother.
