Personally speaking, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this movie. I believe this was the second non-western movie I ever saw John Wayne in. Not any actor of age can do these kinds of movies and keep the audience interest. Movies like these do require a certain level of action and physical stamina. But, I think John Wayne pulled it off well. There were even elements in the movie were we get to see John playing the "playboy." At was amazing to see that even at his age then, he had a LOT of swagger, which made him very appealing. We lost a great legendary actor that'll never be repeated again!!

McQ is kind of a scaled down, older version of Dirty Harry. At least it goes along the same line. But, hey, no complains.
You got John Wayne, John Sturges directing, a bunch of familiar faces in the cast, shooting, car chases - alltogether good 70s crime cinema.
