Spencer Tracy is so dynamic and magnetic here; his performance really jumps off the screen. You might call it, dare I say, jake. A lot of this movie wasn't jake, though, as the plot was largely unnecessary and there was nothing particularly remarkable about the filmmaking itself. But the chemistry between the leads and the fun that was had in watching them court was all the jake you need on a winter's night. Mostly enjoyable.
