Faceless mockery on MIB heritage. Don't get me wrong, original MIB (and the second one as well) were far from masterpieces, but they were fun.
utterly disappointing. this movie is a shame to previous MIB movies. all the hype around it is for nothing. absolutely garbage, dont waste your time watching it
The definition of a movie that’s competent but devoid of anything interesting.
3.5/10
Despite a pretty good cast. They missed the boat on what made the first one good. Chris Hemsworth is a funny guy with the right material and lines. Here though his Thor like charm almost doesn’t feel right for a Men in Black movie.
Tessa Thompson has gotten most the praise in the bad reviews. While she’s a reliable actress. I can’t really say she steals the show. Thompson and Hemsworth are equally wasted.
I didn’t think Men in Black with different agents was a horrible idea, like many say. I mean, it is an organization with not just J and K as the only agents.
It’s just that nothing special was done with that.
I had low expectations, but it was even worse. Impressive.
I remember MIBs were actually entertaining. This one just ruined it! And so stupid... The agents have a car that flies, yet they parked on the ground near the Eiffel Tower? LoL :laughing::laughing: And take the elevator!!!
I enjoyed the little hammer and Chris scene I also enjoyed Tessa through out the movie. I did not think the movie was terrible it just wasn't great. It was exactly as I rated fair, I feel that the original MIB just has will smiths it factor that is really just hard to top., The story line for this one was pretty predictable.
After reading the comments on this website and other, I didn't expect anything but an empty movie à la Marvel, with no content, half a story but good SFX to make us swallow the pill, but I was actually surprised, in a good way.
That might not be the best MIB movie, but I would place it in third position, as I found it better in many ways than MIB3.
If I had to state the number one reason this movie flopped, I'd probably blame the actors, particularly Tessa Thompson. While her character was inconsistent: borderline annoying at the start of the movie with her way-too-much-excited attitude to not-even-surprised-of-alien-stuff-everywhere fro the half of the movie, far from Will Smith's Agent L discovering the system on screen with us, it feel that Agent M was recruited on screen, acquired experience somehow and came back finishing the movie as a more mature agent... Plus she didn't really fit there, with no chemistry with the rest of the cast, it's more of a movie following two agents (and Pawny) than a duo.
Chris Hemsworth on the other way is a very good half of a duo, unfortunately there's no real second half, and he, or more likely his character can not (and should not) compensate that void alone.
Liam Neeson is probably the best pick for an experienced agent now head of a MIB branch, and play that role to the perfection
even though his over protective behavior toward agent H makes him suspicious early on in the movie .
The movie in itself is not as funny as the 2 first iterations, but has its moments, I can not say jokes fall flat because I did not notice a lot of them and the ones I noticed did at the very least make me smile, so it is not a failed attempt of comedy, but more likely a deliberate choice to bet on well... not humor at least.
The story was not half bad, but was not brand new, the concept of alien(s) coming on earth carrying an object/weapon incredibly powerful but searched but a destructive alien race sounds a lot like the first movies, ok, there are a few twists, but it does not make it original enough to make this movie memorable, compared to MIB or MIB2.
I think the accent was put on blowing our mind with alien and advanced tech but too much it too much. When there is no reason , no purpose and makes no sense, why include it?
First a teleoperator can track an alien spaceship with a simple laptop while at work despite the incredible MIB tech, they can't fake an asteroid trajectory or erase it from an basic internet website?
Then, the New York subway transforming in a kind of overboosted hyperloop. The idea i actually really cool, but why in the hell did they need to include a physical transformation of the old looking classic metro train into a super advanced one while in both station aliens are roaming around hence the total absence of a need for camouflage. To be noted than in London, the train stay hi-tech...
Next, in the first fight scene against the twins, just outside the club, the car is filled with weapons, litteraly every single part of the car is a weapon cache, even the side mirrors or the exhaust pipe. And if you try to put it all together, you will quickly really, that it i not technically possible, unless the MIB cars would be secretly TARDIS?
Again with the cars, they can obviously transform, to fly, overdrive or any other function, as a classic MIB car should do, but they push the transformation almost to a Transformers level, in the last scene, it takes almost 10 seconds for the car to change into fly mode, while in the original movies, a reactor got out of the boot and that was enough, they here felt the need to make the whole trunk disappear, move, change shape to, at the end, give us a badass planecar! No just kidding, the result looks more like a frail paper plane than anything else.
I will not most certainly nor beg for a sequel, but I would not spit on it either. I only wish I could see more Agent H and less Agent M in the future.
Idea for a future movie: a bridge between the "real" MIB movies and MIB International where Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) and Agent T (High T, Liam Neeson) fought together as field agent a few years/decades back, with, why not, young Agents L and H making a cameo...
And of course, last but not least, I loved Pawny, he's cute, fun, badass and put a lot a fresh air in the movie. He's probably the one who made me laugh the most, from his very first appearance, i wanted to see him more, and I still do!
In the end, I enjoyed watching this movie, I had some fun, it was a occasion to dive back into one of my favorite sci-fi franchises. The movie was not really freshly original, nor the actors fitting in, but I can not qualify this movie as a bad movie, it an OK movie, tasteless compared to the rest of the franchise but an interesting entry for the younger generation who might not have been there in 1997 to watch Agent L and Agent K making there debut on the big screen.
I give it a 6.5, and just because of Pawny, I'll round it up.
What a shitload of fuck, MIB without Will Smith and Tommy Lee , this is like that shity remake of ghostbusters.
MIB International is a good addition to the series. Where MIB 1, 2, & 3 focused mostly on issues in the United States in this installment the adventure is taken abroad to locals like Marrakesh and Paris. The Plot is relatively simple but straight forward with occasional holes regarding the actions of Agent H (Chris Hemsworth). Agent M (Tessa Thompson) delivers a fun and witty performance as the MIB's newest agent. Chris Hemsworth, unfortunately, seems to present the same performance as he does in most other movies. However, Hemsworth and Thompson work well together and seem to have good chemistry. The duo zips from location to location encountering aliens of varying types, using chrome guns aplenty and discovering there is something internally wrong with the MIB. Some jokes don't land as intended and there are instances of making it known that women are equal to men, "we are the Men in Black, and Women in Black...". While it's not as good as MIB 1 it is better than MIB 3.
Men in Black: International is the fourth installment in the franchise, but it is not a sequel. The film is a reboot or spinoff that follows the story of Agents H (Chris Hemsworth) and M (Tessa Thompson) as they save the galaxy from appearance-changing aliens. Unlike the first Men in Black film, which was a fun and enjoyable romp with decent special effects and memorable moments, the fourth installment falls short. The script is poor, the narrative is bumpy and flawed, and the new leads are not able to bring the same energy and likability as the original Agents J and K. The film also tries to expand the scope of the franchise with no real reason and ends up feeling like any other team-up movie. The behind-the-scenes issues and posturing have affected the final product, which is a soulless, hollow, and uninteresting. It's a shame that the producers had a chance to relaunch the franchise with fresh, young leads and give us another fun series of movies, but they have dropped the ball.
I wouldn’t say this is a good attempt to revive the MIB franchise.
The pace of the movie was awful to say the least and at times was quite hard to watch.
If they decide to make a sequel to this one, I truly hope it’ll be better made and scripted.
Tessa and Chris work well together. They are funny together. They work off each others lines really well.
But that was a different movie.
In this movie, the only decent part was the character Pawny (voiced by Kumail), the rest was barely average. Despite the great cast, clearly they ran out of money for script writers, because this just sucked.
Save yourself 2 hours and go watch some random live traffic cam.
The Men in Black series has always been competent yet slightly underwhelming. And so it is with this film; faintly enjoyable but with the feeling that it's the least they could have done. No need for a sequel.
Like many have said, this film is bad. Plain and simple. We all expected Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson to have the same magic from Thor: Ragnarok, but it doesn't happen here. The film falls flat. It is so bland and watered down, with not many moments to laugh at. They completely missed the mark, and doesn't come close to the charm of even the worst original Men in Black movies. I hope they don't make a sequel to this.
Men In Black International brought back memories nice spin on the movie especially with Molly Agent M.
This movie even though I would agree it is not good as the original classic Men In Black Movies with Will Smith as the lead protagonist in. This brought back the franchise with a lovely funny spin to it especially having Molly (Agent M) played by Tessa Thompson was just so refreshing as the men in black agency are normally able to neuralyze everyone that seen anything that is out of the ordinary, nevertheless they missed out Molly who they thought was asleep in her bedroom as a kid. Molly setting out to find this secret agency twenty years later she hacks into a satellite then finds them after everyone thinks she is delusional, which she follows the Men In Black back to the New York Headquarters where she waltzes in through the front door that I thought is hilarious. Having Chris Hemsworth as Agent H (Harry) is so funny as he is kind of your average joker does not care what everyone thinks that does do what he wants when he wants, compared to Molly Agent M played by Tessa Thompson really keeps everything serious and logical while having a laugh from time to time. The random flirtations between the two is just nice to see really does gives Molly Agent M taking control in these flirtations interactions as she is a strong independent woman that knows what she wants and she knows exactly what she is doing, then Agent H (Harry) is much more of a flirtier protagonist that just wings it into action than logically thinks about what he is doing like Molly Agent M does when jumping into any kind of action with danger in. Pawny is just great an Alien who is just as well a bit of a joker he is also very kind and loyal towards his friends especially Molly his queen as he calls her. This movie is great to watch I hope they bring more Men In Black movies in the future as it is starting to show more equality with feminism, which I love that Women can be powerful protagonists too in these films not just your typical damsel in distress. This gives more opportunities to actors where the stories can run wilder becoming less predictable with more of a Gen Z way of life projected across films.
Nowhere near as good as the other MIB movies. Very bland.
did not like at all, thor reference was funny tho
it's pretty bad. not sure why the high rating. maybe because of Chris and Liam !
Kinda boring/pointless. Has its moments, but also dragged a lot. Meh in Black would be a better title.
MIB: International is a guidebook to a place you've already visited. It's got some fun memories, but what you see is flat and déjà vu so rather than diluting your experiences with a knock off souvenir, it's better just to reminiscence about what it was like the first time.
I hate it when they have to bring politics into the movies we use to escape our political world #stopwokemovies
And I think Tessa overacted just a tad too much and K was sorely missed
So very very bland. I normally love underdog movies but this one was so boring! I loved Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson in Thor Ragnarok, so I have to say their complete lack of on screen chemistry was so surprising. Even the action scenes were so boring I found myself wanting to go for a walk. Kind of a let down and waste of 2 hours
:heart::heart::heart: - Men in Black International feels like a film that doesn't need to exist. MIBI is far too boring but the visually nice
10:heart:- Masterpiece :100:
9:heart:- Excellent
8:heart: - Amazing :ok_hand:
7:heart:- Great :sun_with_face:
6:heart: - Good
5:heart: - Average :head_bandage:

Men in Black: International is an enjoyable movie that doesn't quite reach the same heights as the original trilogy, but still manages to deliver a fun and entertaining experience. The special effects are impressive and add to the movie overall. Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson both deliver strong performances, and their chemistry is evident throughout the film. While the plot may not be as strong as the previous movies, it's still engaging enough to keep you interested. Overall, a solid addition to the franchise, and fans of the series will appreciate the movie's effort to capture the spirit of the original trilogy.
Since I have seen all the previous MIB movies, my expectations were high. Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson are both excellent actors and they did a great job as far as their roles allowed it. But the story itself was flimsy and the whole plot predictable. The motives of Agent M and Agent H were opaque and those of the antagonists non-existent.
But in the end, I must admit, the movie entertained me and I hope for a sequel with a more profound storyline.
8.5/10 - Wow, I really liked this movie (much more than I was expecting). The cast is great and the story is funny and not too messy IMO (at least for a MIB movie). Not sure (yet) why the reviews are so low.
I was most scared about the new female character (Molly Wright / Agent M) as I wanted her to be badass and not just silly or something like that. Luckily they did a good job IMO. I like the actress and her character. She's smart, badass, and of course looks good in black :D I quite liked the dynamics between her and Henry as well as Pawny.
It also provided a nice view from an outsider's perspective into MIB.
I also really love the voices of Liam Neeson, Chris Hemsworth, and Kumail Nanjiani (I really need to finish watching "Silicon Valley" as Kumail's voice sounded familiar but I couldn't remember from where... :o).
It enjoyable enough, But the Men In Black in the title is just so they can use the branding and gadgets really. It didn't feel like watching Men In Black at all. It's the wrong kind of story, wrong kind of humour, wrong kind of characters for MIB, along with that they did away with most of the MIB backstory.
If you're looking for a marginally enjoyable sci-fi action movie, you'll find this suitable. If you're looking for a Men in Black movie, this is extremely lacking.
Also that pawn can go f**k its self. It's one of those characters that is inserted constantly into scenes they have no place in, and makes everything involving them worse.
NOWHERE NEAR AS GOOD AS THE OTHER'S, SJW VIRTUAL
SIGNALLING WOMAN THE BEST, MEN ARE NOT, ARE SHOULD I SAY ALL WOMAN ARE QUEENS WTF, NO ALL QUEENS ARE WOMAN BUT JUST TO PUSH THE AGENDA THEY REVERSED IT, rolling my eye's. NOT REALLY A FUN RIDE JUST SEEMED TO GO THROUGH THE MOTIONS AND TICK BOXES AND WAS RATHER CHEESY AND PREDICTABLE,

(IN REAL LIFE I DON'T APPRECIATE TESSA HATING
ON WHITE GUY'S SAYING SHE DOES NOT WANT TO WORK WITH THEM) CHECK HER SAYING IT ON YOU TUBE IF YOU THINK AM MAKING THAT PART UP EVERYONE.
OK TESSA WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE BRIE-LARSON
BUT HEY AT LEAST IT WAS A BETTER MOVIE THAN
GHOSTBUSTERS 2016
AND CHARLIE'S ANGEL
REBOOT2.2
I'LL LET YOU DECIDE HOW THAT RATES THIS MOVIE.
Better than the previous two in the franchise thanks to Will Smith not being in it.
Awful and forgettable. I hope Liam Neeson was well paid.
That is one of the best SF movies, is funyy
Men In Black: International attempts to revive the franchise but puts forth a rather lackluster effort. After chasing after the MIB all her life Molly finally infiltrates one of their offices and is granted a probationary status and assigned to the London branch where she’s teamed up with hot shot Agent H. New leads Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson don’t have near the chemistry or charisma of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones (who still loom large over the series). And Rebecca Ferguson makes for a weak villain. Also, the tone isn’t as lighthearted as the previous films (focused more on the action) and no one seems to be having fun on these wacky alien adventures. The aliens aren’t all that interesting either and seem pretty generic. A rote sci-fi action film, Men In Black: International has none of the color or whimsy of the original trilogy.
Sadly the worst of all MiB movies.
Not rly funny. Also bit boring.
It is okay to watch it one time.
This was pure dire and I think the less said about this film the better all round!
Predictable at times, but still very enjoyable! The cast is great!
The older MiB movies were funny, this one is not. But it was still watchable, just don't expect the new cast to be making jokes like Will Smith at his best.
CGI is pretty good.
A complete waste of time. I haven't been so bored watching a movie in awhile.
The alien designs was unimaginative, the effects are terrible, the comedy falls flat, the characters suck, and Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson lacked any chemistry this time around.
There was nothing here that I liked.
not bad not good
-pawny was the best thing in the movie
-H character was annoying
- stone age Morocco? really?
While it seems to have wasted a lot of Hemsworth's comedic gifts, this entry in the franchise is nowhere near as bad as the haters had prepared me to find it. Yes, it lacks a lot in terms of originality, but it is still plenty entertaining, and it's not as if this is the fourth outing in four years, or anything like that. And frankly, having now read a bit about its troubled production history (I avoid that stuff ahead of time so that outside considerations don't bias me before I've seen a movie), I'm VERY glad that the "social relevance" stuff was mostly removed. I watch movies like this in order to be entertained, not so that I can be subjected to yet another Hollywood preaching session on one topic or another. And if the preaching had been presented here the way that it usually is these days, I would have been dodging anvils left and right. So yeah, I'm glad that someone decided that escapist fun should be just that: escapist fun.
it wasn't what i expected to be honest. loved the adventure and the chemistry between Chris & Tessa. if there's a sequel i hope they bring their a game with them!
That was so much funnnnnnn omg I want another one.
Certainly better than MIB2, but what isn't? The chemistry of Smith/Jones is lost and thus a lot of the humanity in this cartoony sci fi adventure. Overall, though, it moved along, had good action and effects and a not-horrible story. If only the characters connected a little better. 6/10
How do you
Start the movie?
Kinda a good family movie. The plots are decent enough
O + (H + M) + C = -T.
IT WAS OBVIOUS!
They should do an animated pawny spin-off movie
1st half - V. Bad ; 2nd half - Great recovery and nice ending though too late for the movie to be good.
A stony-faced-as-usual Liam Neeson, clearly-not-interested Tessa Thompson, and Chris Helmsworth who was instructed to carry his Thor swagger over from the MCU to this movie make up most of the cast of this slumber-fest of a movie. You can spot the bad guy from miles away.
Interesting movie for children under 13. For the rest it is a kids movie, slightly better than "Spy Kids".
Why????????????????????????????? This post needed these extra words to post. I stand by my comment!
Not bad, not good either. I did not sleep watching it but it was tasteless.
Not funny. Tessa Thompson has totally no shine, Chris Hemsworth is not even remotely funny and nothing anywhere near the Fresh Prince. The little alien pawn is so terrible in every possible way, it's almost depressing.
Great visuals (saw it IMAX 3D) and overal not a bad movie, but it's all terribly predictable (and that can be positive in the case of a funny movie, or at least - not negative... but that's both not the case here).
Good for a few ha-ha moments, but thats it.
Disappointing.
Better than 3, not as good as 2 or 1. Tessa and Chris carried the crappy story and comedy. Honorable mention to Kumail's voice and (probably) mo-cap work. This is definitely a wait for it to come to Netflix movie.
Tessa Thompson stole the show, with Chris Hemsworth playing his typical "hot guy people don't like but he's too charming to hate". It felt like a watered down, weaker version of the originals. The swearing and sex jokes felt a bit awkward while the original films managed to make all that seem natural. I liked it enough to watch a sequel though
should start a new franchise - men in green
It is entertaining, the actors well, but it stays in no man's land regarding the action or comedy mix. At least it's better than 3 and 2, but 1 is still the best
This was a lot of fun. From the very beginning, when Lady Columbia dons her shades, the mood is set for its "wink-wink, nudge-nudge" humour. There were subtle bits that made me laugh out loud. The cast is perfectly chosen, from the heavy-weight talents (Liam Nelson, Emma Thompson) to the buddy pairing/trio (Tessa Thompson, Chris Hemsworth/Kumail Nanjiani). Chris Hemsworth is absolutely adorable. The CGI is creative and well crafted. The adventure is just fun. I give this film a 9 (superb) out of 10. [Joy-ride of Action Adventure]
This is a very good entertaining movie. Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson work very well together. And a special mention to Pawny.

This was pretty bland. Not really that funny and the action wasn't great. I thought Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson would be fun but they were just fine. Kumail Nanjiani's character was the best part of the movie.
