The sleepy town of Midsomer Market, on the outskirts of Buckinghamshire, is usually peaceful and bucolic. Neighbors rely on each other, children roam free, and the elderly women congregate to talk about books. But when someone starts picking off the members of the reading circle one by one, it's up to Detective Chief Inspector Barnaby (John Nettles) and his partner, Sgt. Gavin Troy (Daniel Casey), to root out the resident evil.
