A cheesy horror sequel, Mimic 2 is generic and unimaginative. The Judas bug is discovered once again, guarding a nest in the basement of an inner city school, and goes on the attack when it becomes threatened. The cast is unremarkable and gives weak performances. The sets and special effects are also subpar. However, there are some fairly decent action scenes and a couple of good jump scares. Formulaic and uninspired, Mimic 2 has none of the edginess or terror of the original.
