The only people on this planet that wouldn't love this movie are racist. It involves the base "right" versus "wrong" expectation, Nazi versus good, Nationalist versus human. There's a part of the world some us like to pretend doesn't exist anymore. This challenges the lies and is the truth. We need to live up to our own ideals

Is it a great Spike Lee joint? No. A lot of it is generic, boring war movie. But the glimpses of Spike Lee’s style and incendiary passion lift the film up. The third act where it all goes wrong in a way you wouldn’t expect for a movie called a miracle hits hard, the music is on point, and there some good performances. The close up, the little montage… those Spike Lee touches worked for me. Everything here is done much better in Da 4 Bloods. This movie feels like a warm up for that one. But that ambition and faltering is interesting in its own way.
