Motel Hell 1980

What a weird, horrific movie. I loved it! ;-)

Funny to see Artie Grossman playing - Artie Grossman but in a horror movie. Also, Cliff Claven as a victim and Wolfman Jack with a cameo made this much more enjoyable.

The main brother sister pair played it off so well - like what they were doing was totally acceptable... Hilarious!

"Meat's meat, and a man's gotta eat."

Motel Hell has been on my watchlist for a long time now. First time I heard about it was through Eli Roth's History of Horror and how they talked about it got me very interested. The story did not disappoint. A "human" farm? Burying them neck deep, cutting their vocal cords? Great stuff. Especially the way Rory Calhoun sells this as he plays farmer Vincent.

Best part? The couple who thinks the Motel that is connected to the farm is a Swinger's hotel. Such a weird but lovely scene. The climax is also great. Vincent putting on a pig mask and battling his little sheriff brother Bruce (Paul Linke) with chainsaws? Can't go wrong with a chainsaw battle!

Anyway Motel Hell is a fun 80's horror movie which maybe could've used a bit more gore but still is loads of fun and made me at another movie to my watchlist; The Monster that Challenged the World, which they show in a drive-in. So if you haven't seen this one yet, put it down for this year's Hoop-tober or just watch it tonight!

A lot of twisted fun but not much in between those twisted moments. That's where you need a decent writer.

Plant yourselves into your seats, eat some of that jerky, let the absurdity hypnotize you and get entertained by one hell of a twisted toxic brother sister dynamic!

What a fun watch, it's the perfect dose of dumb, funny, weird and psychopathic terror. Vincent and Ida have the charisma to carry this movie and some good performances from both actors. There's a lot of stuff in here that make no sense whatsoever, you just have to leave your common sense at the door. It definitely needed more blood and kills but it has a lot to offer to compensate. Wild third act. This is one i'll surely revisit.

What a ride. This film is so weird and absurd. I like the silliness part of the film, like the chainsaw battle, pig head, kinky couple and all that, it was really fun but most of times I find it too stupid and boring.
