A film that documents a year in the life of Susan Tom's family of thirteen (most of whom have severe disabilities). The power of the film is that it shows life for the Tom family not as simply heroic, but as a raw amalgam of the experiences of the all of its parts. While Susan Tom brings the family, and the documentary together, she doesn't overwhelm the viewer. Rather the viewer is introduced to the different members of the family as individuals. It's also worth watching Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (S03E04) which is about the Tom family.
