I loved the movie up until like 2 minutes before it ends. The fact that it was all a dream completely screws it up - I'd loved the epic ending of "I made a mistake".

The only good thing about Next is Jessica Biel.

Storyline is unbelievable and just a premonition / foresight so the whole thing is not really happening.

The idea for this movie made me think it had so much potential. I thought they could do so much with it. Well, I was wrong. Horribly wrong. The major flaw with this movie is the story. There isn't one. Characer development also was very much lacking. Who was Peter Falk's character and why did we care about him? The movie never even gives a hint as to why the bad guys want to blow up a US city. Interesting that they were speaking French yet we don't have a clue why they hate America. Jessica Biel makes Cage sleep in the jeep overnight but in the morning they are all over each other. Their love sure emerged from the creepy stage to heat awful quick. I thought Julianne Moore's performance for a multi-Academy Ward nominee was pathetic.

That ending reminded me of Twilight Breaking Dawn Part II :'D

Surprisingly good action flick about a "magician" that can see into the future and is recruited by the FBI to help defuse a nuclear bomb.

What the hell is this crap? There isn't an actual ending to this movie. Were they hoping to film a sequel called Next: Next or something? It literally ends on "it was all a dream" but the high-stakes are still there and haven't been resolved... there's some cool ideas but the dialogue is mega cringey and the CGI isn't much better than a PS2 game. Bad.

It started off with promise but frankly I'm getting bored now?

Actually I just wanted to have a quick look, but then I watched the film Next (2007) with Nicolas Cage until 2 a.m. And it was worth it. I already loved this film when it was released. The somewhat different time travel story with the perfect touch of romance. Jessica Biel and Nicolas Cage harmonize wonderfully in this film, which hits the mark with its surprising twist at the end. I have to admit that I am a little bit influenced by my enthusiasm back then. Today some effects look a bit cheap. Also, Cage is and never was the best actor. But this role fits him perfectly. Besides Face/Off and The Rock my favorite movie with him.

Clear proof that not all Philip K. Dick short stories have enough substance for a feature film. Desperately short on creativity, Next takes a clever original concept (precognitive masquerades as a low-level Vegas magician) and promptly spins it into a pulpy blob of action goop. Along the way it mixes in a roomful of to-the-letter FBI stereotypes, a painfully shoehorned love story and a weirdly under-explained cell of nuke wielding French terrorists. Even the mindless action scenes are toothless, as Nic Cage's future-weary prophet sees every bullet coming before the gun's even drawn, basically playing the part of Neo without the presence of an Agent Smith to counter his moves.

Cage is his usual anti-charismatic self, old and burnt-out at a glance, but the real surprise isn't how low Cage sinks - it's how far Julianne Moore is willing to follow. Both players imbue their roles with such a wooden lack of emotion that I wouldn't be surprised to learn the entire film was comprised of first takes. Dull, passionless and predictable, it's a futile waste of ninety minutes.

High quality idea, mediocre quality execution. But still, enjoyable.

Could have been sooooo much better with a different ending. Loved it until the last 2 minutes.
