I love old horror movies, and I love Barbara Steele, but this is just bad. After watching the movie, then reading the synopsis, I said "oh, is that what happened?" The poster reads "A mad, sadistic scientist on the loose." Really? Where? Sure, he was a scientist, but it doesn't play into the story. Does he have the ability to reverse age? I guess. It wasn't shown. Solange was old, then she was young, but it wasn't mentioned, you're just left wondering what happened to the old lady. It never affected the plot. Why not just have her be young the whole time? The synopsis also claims that the Count (was he a Count? No one ever called him a Count. No one ever called Steele a Countess) remarries after years... you'd never know that from watching the movie. It just seems like the next day, after he murders his wife.
Also, it was so unclear, I thought he just bleached his wife's hair and gave her amnesia - since both roles are played by Steele.
Were they sisters? No, because she looks at the painting of the first wife and doesn't know her. Why?! Finally, this has to be the only ghost story I've seen where if you kill someone you can take out their heart, put it in water, and it will trap their ghost.
This movie takes way too long to tell a story that does not make sense.

This is a film that has always intrigued me, but I was never for the life of me able to tell what the hell was going on - and I still can't.
