Having seen the American remake first, this one is definitely scarier. It's also more gruesome than the remake. It is a little hard to follow at times, but it's more eerie and it's just another good Japanese horror. Not the best Japanese horror I've seen, but it's certainly worth watching, if just the once.
It's entertaining enough, though not that scary. Especially the second act is more of a comedy. But one thing they nailed perfectly. The ringtone. Simple, but creepy.
