Not so bad as some might say, but a bit too long.
From the company that mostly spews out garbage comes a new movie based on now TWO other very similar movies with the same theme starring the talentless Emily Blunt. It's just not good and her acting would put her far down the "D" list if not for her popular husband. She's not as bad as Salina Gomez but she's not that much better either.
The first part of the film depicts the rise of a scammer, while the second part portrays her remorse and anguish. However, there isn’t a clear redemption, and there is too little focus on the outcomes of her scam and the consequences it has on people. There’s a real risk that films like this glorify what’s wrong. It’s a shame.
Another movie examining the illegalities within the drugs industry and similar to others of its type. Still watchable but there are no new revelations here.
I liked. I honestly enjoyed every minute, even when I totally felt it was faaaake and overdramatized. I love Emily Blunt. I think it is a good option for relaxation.
Another one that slid under my nose until it popped up in my Movie Club. I REALLY enjoy grimy true stories in modern history. Even knowing how it basically always ends, the stories are always crazy! This one is no exception to the genre. Was it as good as something like Wolf of Wall Street or Pain & Gain, in comparison? I don't think so, but that does not take away from enjoying the film. Blunt is great. Captain America is a bit out of place. Regardless, a quality straight to Netflix film!
Rating: 3/5 - 75% - Worth Watching
Adequate performances with competent direction. Unfortunately, its style is heavily borrowed from similar films that have done it better.
Pretty standard but enjoyable enough watch. It is a little too long and predictable.
Entertaining flick with a good cast. The second act drags on, almost playing the same scene repeatedly and then they rush to the final act.
Yawn! it's been done.
I've actually switched this off.
Another dopesick ripoff from Netflix.
Good cast. Too long. Reminded me of "Love & Other Drugs".
this was so boring and kinda miscast? I kept picturing ben affleck in chris evan's role

Every character and actor in this movie is so alive and dynamic and then there's Emily Blunt.
