Filmed in British Columbia, set in Boston, this is a film about grief, coping with the violent death of loved ones, waiting for justice and the inability to communicate. Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathy Bates and Spencer Hudson gave performances that were both believable and resonant. Ashton Kutcher's portrayal was a little uneven in establishing the centre of his character, but better than I expected from him. The ending was a little unsatisfactory.
