Such an enjoyable film. It was hard not to keep saying "why doesn't she push the issue" throughout the middle part of the film. As the film goes on you start to see where this is all going (of course you probably should have trusted the directory by then anyway) and as the slow burn continues we eventually get the payoff. The end of the film is simply fantastic. The acting is also top-notch.

The movie was all over the place, never quite sure if it wanted to be a neo-noir or a historical drama. Some of the character actions were rather unbelievable and some of the plot choices questionable, but genuinely powerful scenes and great performances more than make up for it. 7/10 for me.

Very beautifully done film with an amazing performance by Nina Hoss. Actually she was the reason I watched this movie in the first place, after seeing her on Homeland. When I first read the synopsis it sounded very intriguing to me and it really is when you think about it. Nevertheless it could have been better executed in my opinion. For example the ending is totally abrupt and leaves lots of questions unanswered, which is really frustrating.
