Photograph 2019

Had a low opinion in the first few minutes but I got caught up in the story and the quiet presentation of its unfolding. There are no firework moments yet the demeanor of the main characters pressing on regardless of circumstances and their reticent self-composure gave it a grandeur beyond its small scale dramatic premise. A great film for unwinding and as a palate cleanser after something violent or more emotionally draining.

This film has a more fresh, modern feeling. Yes, it's set in India and portrays Indian people, but it's a step back from the Bollywood style. The cinematography and dialogue is very raw- the quietness, carefully curated soundtrack, intimate/special settings- that's what makes it beautiful. Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I'd recommend give it a try.
