Piglet's Big Movie 2003

This film is super cute! If you're a fan of the Winnie the Pooh franchise and haven't watched this, you really need too. Tugs on the heart strings!

Disney returns to the Hundred Acre Wood for more adventures in Piglet’s Big Movie. When Pooh and friends get separated from Piglet after a bee attack they use Piglet’s memory book to help them find him, and reminisce about past adventures that they’ve had together. The framing story feels contrived and the flashback stories seem anachronistic; always painting Piglet as a silent, unsung hero (which really isn’t his role in the friendship dynamic). Also, the songs (which are all done by Carly Simon) are incredibly intrusive and have no subtlety to them what-so-ever, describe exactly what’s happening on-screen. Still, the lighthearted humor is kind of cute and delivers some fun laughs. And the antics that the characters get into are pretty amusing. But while it’s entertaining and has its moments, Piglet’s Big Movie doesn’t quite live up to the previous Winnie the Pooh films.
