I actually liked the movie, for once not the cute teenage vampires but real vampires and okay its far from realistic but you'll know that when you start watching right. So just don't start if you hate it already
worst movie I've seen in a long long time. soooo cliché omg. such a stupid and predictable storyline :s Paul Bettany ... why did you do it? :s You're a brilliant actor bur this crap is beneath you :x
Let me start off by saying I completely understand why this movie is so lowly rated. BUT! I really like it. The creature cg is stunning. The story is good enough for the type of movie its trying to be. If not, even better. The sets are amazing (the actual sets). The main thing that let's this film down is the time it was released. Everything had to be cg and every company wanted to get their place in the 3D market. Some scenes just seem to be shot solely for 3D. Take the mark of the time away and you're left with a film full of amazing actors telling a story that's interesting for the fairly short runtime. They could've milked this for another hour but they decided to compact the whole thing in less then 90 minutes. Which makes me think this deserves more than the score it's got.
I actually thought this was a great movie! Lots of action!!! I was pretty shocked that this didn't receive higher ratings. People can be far too and unnecessarily critical of movies like this. It's really unfair. I was looking forward to a Priest 2!
Priest has some things working for it but more against it. It’s clearly going for an Underworld tone but doesn’t have the writing strength to carry it beyond the style of that film. While the action here is fun, the bland characters and blander acting make said action feel weightless.
It's kind of entertaining. But afterwards you feel disgusted with yourself for being entertained by it because it's kind of terrible. :joy: Paul Bettany comes across as reasonably intelligent - what about this script told him that this film would be a good idea.
5 / 10: dialogues and story are firmly in "so bad it's good" territory. do recommend.

Vampires in a western movie, with badass assassin priests? If that doesn't sound like a fun movie, I don't know what does. Unfortunately this movie could've been so much more and it just fell so flat. Some cool concept art involved, but the movie felt like another Jonah Hex (ew).

Judge Dredd with Vampires.... Just awful.
It kept my interest for about 20 minutes, but got way to corny. Flex, you just nailed whats wrong with 90% of genre movies now.
some good jump scares and i thought the premise and setting/scenery were really interesting. started out good but got a little cringe-y towards the end, and i was quite bored by the characters of the girl and the sheriff. it's a film that takes itself too seriously and i would have really liked to see some humorous moments? definitely set itself up for a sequel (the "queen" is a huge unanswered question) which won't be happening due to its terrible reviews which is a shame as it leaves a lot of unresolved plot behind. also too much holy church music
Torn on this one. Many good visuals, set pieces, props, and costumes. Even a few cool ideas sprinkled throughout. They obviously had a decent budget. Good cast as well but damn was this movie a bit dumb. Predictable and dumb. A lot of wasted potential.

Just very poor all around. The only cool parts are the vampires - very creepy, and the slo-mo part Lucy has at the end.
Good movie for watching with friends, but if you want something more than a typical summer action movie look elsewhere.

The Manga is super dope and this movie sucked. None of this crap was even in the manga.
Agree with Flex, had low hopes but it peeked my interest, started OK but went south about 30min in, not a bad movie in particular but not a very good one either.
The action is not good enough to hide the other mistakes in that movie. Despite the weak story and the retarded character design, they also fucked up the choreography by putting more focus to fast cuts and CGI instead of proper movements.
Oh My! 2011 Action just keep getting worst...
