Funky Monks is the title of a 1991 documentary (also the title of a song from the 1991 album Blood Sugar Sex Magik) about the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers and the recording of their highly successful 1991 Warner Bros. debut Blood Sugar Sex Magik. The album was produced by Rick Rubin and recorded in a supposedly haunted house which Rubin now owns.

This is a great documentation of the RHCP's recording my favourite / greatest Rock Albums of ALL TIME. After all these years it still doesn't seem dated and the Album still is Fresh. Watching the Band Collaborate, revise, interact and record this Album is a timeless treasure. Watching John is play is truly amazing. This Album is a Masterpiece cover to cover & finally got one of the hardest working and most tragic bands the recognition they deserved. Unfortunately people that only loved them after hearing this album didn't go away after a year or two.
