The story in essence was good but as the plot developed it was somewhat lacking. A film that could have been better. Average, I enjoyed it but am unlikely to watch it again.
Sabotage has a mystery going throughout most of the film which makes it one of the more thinking required Arnie shootemups. The blood and gore may be a turn off for some however but for those who see it out will find themselves enjoying the ride as you encounter plot twists.
so painful to watch this. The only good thing is the opportunity to see Arnold again; one of the best action actors of all time; to bad the rest is just a mess... Not worth the effort even for Arnold fans like me.
Bad acting, bad story. Not worth watching.
This is one of the worst movies ever.
Wastes a great cast. I expected better from this.
"Look at you! With your fucking 48% body fat!"
DEA gang caught up in the middle of a revenge story and corruption? Count me in. Arnold is used well in this format and while I wish we had a little more time with each character, the gritty violence makes up for it.
'Sabotage' is almost watchable, but it just falls short of being that in my eyes.
It does have issues. I didn't really enjoy Arnold Schwarzenegger in this, but his performance does improve slightly as the film goes on. Mireille Enos isn't the best, nor are any of her co-stars behind Arnie to be honest - Sam Worthington and Olivia Williams are alright, more miss than hit though.
This 2014 flick also feels like an all too obvious attempt to replicate 'The Expendables' from four years prior (or same year, going by TE3), at least until the ending - where I feel like it does something else. Speaking of the conclusion though, it all felt a bit rushed and not well developed. Another negative is that all the characters are unlikeable, even across the first chunk when the film seems to want them to be.
Those are numerous criticisms, evidently, and would usually equal a lower rating from myself. However, as noted at the top, it is almost something I could just sit back and watch, without thinking too much about it. I'm all for so-called 'switch off your brain' flicks, but this doesn't quite reach that level in my opinion.
The action scenes are good, the rest not so much, there are things that happen because the scriptwriter decides, but they do not make sense
A good Äktschn movie with a littel predictable turn at the end.
Schwarzenegger delivers a rare dark performance in this extremely violent but ponderous cop thriller.
To much talking, need more shooting
Une histoire de vengeance pas très bien ficelée, un jeu d'acteur très rudimentaire. La fin est pas mal bâclée ! À éviter.
Contrary to what many people think, I really did like this movie and according to what I've been hearing it was cut from a 3 hour long drama-thriller to an action shoot em-up so it's understandable that some things wouldn't make sense. All that aside, I still loved this movie and hey - ARNIE!
Mediocre story, the end is quite anticlimactic.
The resolve after the builtup was lacking a lot.
This end doesn't really feel satisfying for the viewer.
This movie feels like an attempt of delivering a new action movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
That is fine as it is, the action is definitely there, but still, the movie isn't really worth your time.
The movie wasn't able to make me care for a single character.
The Script for this movie - as mediocre as it is - raises some quetions considering the end. The directing is questionable as well, personally I am not a fan of watching a scene of the present mixed with cuts to the past to explain what happened. I think this is a poor or even lazy way of explaining something. This or similar is used several times.
Rather watch a praised classic with Schwarzenegger than this - unless you want some brainless mediocre action without satisfying end.

From director David Ayer comes the gritty crime thriller Sabotage. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sam Worthington, Josh Holloway, and Mireille Enos lead the cast and give strong performances; especially Enos, who plays a very challenging role. The story follows a DEA unit that is being hunted down and killed after stealing $10 million from a drug cartel. It’s pretty stereotypical stuff – tough as nails agents that don’t play by the rules, double-crosses and betrayals, etc., etc. Still, the action is well-done and is full of fast-paced and intense chase and fight sequences. Sabotage tries to be harder and more visceral than the average action film, but it also has a lot of ugliness that’s off-putting and makes a lot of the characters unlikable.
