Couldn’t take my eyes off this movie–you know it’s good when it keeps me up way past my bedtime. The titular salesmen in the movie were at once so weird and creepy but also charming and inviting. It was like watching vampires who walk in the day, as you see them wear down the defenses of middle-class housewives, sucking them dry of their last free dollar in the month. I’m not going to write a whole sociological treatise here, but there’s so much here about America and capitalism and religion and I recommend it to everyone.
